We should be patient for a few more weeks. And see what happens when President Trump reopens America. If COVID -19 spikes again in the US .We will have to rethink what we are going to do.
I heard the other day that within a month things will be more normal in Wa.But our border shutdown will remain till Xmas ,this year.

It's only been in the last week or so that we've seen single digit increases in cases in WA and now that the stinking cruise ships have all pissed off, we might start to see a gradual lifting of restrictions as Baz alluded to. I don't think it's financially viable for WAFL clubs to play to empty grand stands so until crowd limits are lifted I can't see anything happening for a couple of months yet.

More like get your hand off your Trump obsession BC. It's my own personal opinion thank you very much.

Yep...fair enough...and good topic btw. It certainly brings peoples opinions to the fore. I can't believe how disciplined we've all been with very few cases of idiots breaking the rules.

Yeah, its worked really well, and Ive been all good with it and Ive found the whingers really pathetic tbh, I mean how hard is it, but I reckon its going to be hard to justify going forward for us in WA, with zero new cases today, I think Sneakers is going to have to start a gradual relaxation, like I say Im all good with things but there are others who just cant cope, listening to callers on 6pr this morning I reckon it wont be long before there is a mass ignoring or rules.

Big Teeth in NZ just announced they are coming out of full lock down in a week, its probably approaching a time when Sneakers will have to set a date for a phase one re opening.

I gotta ask, how did Mark McGowan get the name Sneakers? I’ve wracked my brains, even googled it. I don’t get it. I can’t sleep tonight until I know. BTW if McGowan gets “Sneakers” how about we run with “Chompers” for big teeth? ?

Beat me BC

His nick-name "sneakers" was incorrectly attributed by another reporter last year to the fact that McGowan has "rat cunning", when in fact he was dubbed this way because his party colleagues joked that his shoes were the only part of him that remained visible when he was sucking up to who ever was leading state Labor.

I thought it was a nickname he picked up in the Royal Australian Navy.

Brilliant, reminds me when I was an apprentice at quite a big place. My boss wasn’t too popular because he got cozy with the foreman, bought his HR Ute off him he restored and they went halves in lotto tickets together every week when lotto first came out. The boys used to call him Bootlace.

Southerner wrote: Given the startling initial global spread of this thing - there is no way it's an over cautious approach , particularly given the overt contempt of federal law that has been repeatedly demonstrated by one state in Australia hence why that filthy state has the highest and most dangerous rate of infections
If anything we waited a touch too long and in that one state's case didn't take hard enough action against the dickheads who deliberately ignored these laws
one huge kudo goes to the WA premier who has prevented a potential catastrophe with quick decisive action - unlike one other voting time waste of oxygen in the east

I think you are being over critical to the "over east" mob, Tasmania and NT closed its state borders a lot quicker than Sneakers, the AMA were pleading with Sneakers to do the same and he brushed them off with some crap about it being unconstitutional, a few weeks later he caved in and did would he should of done earlier after going on the attack towards the doctors, no idea why people keep singing Mc Gowans praises when he totally stuffed that part of it up.

Probably a good case to try the Swedish model from where we are now, and we are in a far better place than Sweeden given we are very isolated and have good border controls.
