Sensible choice, Longmuir has had a proven and successful tenure at the Pies and is highly regarded by them, he looks like he will handle the media well and not fire off unsubstantiated rubbish like some others. I wish him well but aside from the Suns Coach, he has the toughest gig in the AFL. Interesting that the article mentioned Longmure beat Solomon for the gig, no mention of Sumich.

Brad Hardie sounded very unimpressed with the choice on 6PR today.

Then Fremantle has made a pretty good choice then, if Hardie is unimpressed then they have nailed it.

Longmuir could be another David Teague. Who done really well at Carlton after replacing Brendon Bolton. Just by changing the game plan and backing his players in.
Do understand Brad Hardies concerns. He is an untried coach and Suma was a good candidate. But like he said Simpson has done wonders at West Coast.When Suma was favoured for the role.
If Suma really want an AFL coaching job.Adelaide Crows have approached over 5 candidates for an interview. Including Ross Lyon and all 5 have declined an interview. No-one wants that job ATM.
