Interesting Bazza didnt know the minister had a seat on the board..

But having said that it does come under the minister for sport portfolio

Present minister for sport is

www.premier.wa.gov.au/Ministers/Mia-Davies/Pages/Default.aspx

Shadow minister is

www.peterwatson.walabor.org.au/

I would love a solicitor or preferably the Minister look into the whole mess.
The WAFC have set themselves up as a Dictatorship and must be made to account

If the WPFC ever went to court on the matter and a timeline was made up of all events I suspect the red faces would be the WAFC. One comment made was we could lose our broadcast because of this issue... Strange CHN 7 have a 3 year contract with the WAFC!!! So if they broke that contract they would be liable and have to PAY BACK sponsorship money already paid.

As my post says above something is wrong with the Timeline.
I would love to see the contract as well and see where it talks of sponsers of WAFL clubs not being allowed? They say this is a common courtesy and standard practice etc between Media stations.. Now that doesnt sound like it is binding?

The WAFC have certainly created a Tangled web of statements but they dont add up.

The questions asked by the media below and answered by the WALDRON and David CRUTE CEO of the WPFC clarify my comments. This one in particular

Was West Perth aware its Channel 9 sponsorship would hinder its opportunity to be telecast?

Mr Walton: The WAFC provided ongoing advice to West Perth throughout the club’s negotiations with Channel 9 in early 2014 to try and prevent commercial conflicts from occurring. West Perth chose to ignore this advice and sign an agreement with Channel 9 with the knowledge that the WAFC was working with Channel 7 on an exclusive basis.

Mr Crute: The WAFC provided ongoing advice to us, but this was after our agreement with Channel 9 had been signed and the advice was more around how we could negotiate out of the contract. The fact remains that all WAFL clubs were officially notified that the WAFC was entering into exclusive negotiations with Channel 7 on March 13, 2014. We signed with Channel 9 two weeks earlier on February 28, 2014. It is worth noting that the WAFC did not sign with Channel 7 until March 2015.

Was it written into the broadcast contract that no team should have sponsorship from a rival network, or did that come as an afterthought?

Mr Walton: Seven’s position to not broadcast games featuring a team that displays the logo of a rival television network on their playing jumpers is the same position Channel 9 expressed when we were discussing commercial broadcast rights with them in 2013. This is both logical and standard practice among the commercial networks. The WAFC supports this position.
Mr Crute: We have repeatedly asked for this information but the WAFC continues to say that it’s an “unwritten rule” between broadcasters and the information is commercial-in-confidence. In a letter dated September 11, 2014, West Perth officially requested advice that the WAFC had advised Channel 7 that we had an existing sponsorship with Channel 9. No advice suggesting the WAFC had done this has been forthcoming.

Another point I cannot get my head around is if WPFC Signed their sponsership contract on
FEB 28 2014 and the WAFC signed their contract with CHANNEL 7 on
MAR 2015
Which is basically 12 months after WPFC had signed their contract and IF channel 7 knew this why did they sign the contract before demanding that WPFC don't have Channel 9 as sponsors...
Did channel 7 demand this and the WAFC told them it wasnt a issue and they would tell the WPFC to remove the 9 logo and their sponsership??? not realizing the WPFC would not do so???????

In this time frame (12 months) they must of know the WPFC had nine as a sponsor? Yet went ahead and signed the contract to televise the WAFL.
Or were they NOT AWARE?

Yep the WAFC have proved their inability to manage the competition once again and must be made to account.

The wafc s paymaster the afl just signed a 2.5 billion dollar deal with the media, expect them to tell the local knaves how high to jump for a slice of it that will probably result in a Seperate Underage afl comp, we should be asking for top dollar now to flog the Franchises back while they are cashed up. Aak for 30 mill each.

Yep just heard that Bazza 7 West and our loyal WA owner Stokes. Think he follows $ubiaco
Joint partners Telstra (thats the iphones covered). Foxtel (thats the pay networks covered)
Newscorp (thats the media covered)
For 6 years :(

Now as I said on a previous post I heard whispers there was more to CHN7 getting the contract and it involved the new stadium.. Ticketing etc etc.
Possibly a sweet heart deal between the WAFC and 7?
There are going to be up to 12 Thurs night games comming in next year... They will be played at Stadiums OUTSIDE OF VICTORIA... Must be the crowd thing LOL.
Heard 7 were also concerned as their ratings were down this year in the AFL arena.

Makes you wonder why CHN 7 would even bother with the WAFL doesnt it considering the cost of the AFL games and the amount they received for showing Limited WAFL Games. Still cant get over them not showing the State game but it tells the story.
I suspect getting the WAFL deal and getting into bed with the WAFC was just a safety net before the opening of the new stadium?

The plot thickens. 9 most probably didnt stand a chance of getting the WAFL games even if they did it for free!!!

Time for a bourbon.. :P

Heard the breakdown on 360 saying that equates to paying 2 million per game or thereabouts over 6 seasons.

If the 2 million dollar figure is correct, that means the costing is just a tick over 13 thousand 3 hundred dollars a minute. Some ones getting ripped off!

Hit the nail on the head ASTRO.. I think the WAFC are trying to bully their way through via bluff... Bugger its not working. Dont forget the Other 8 WAFL clubs wanting to kick the WPFC out of the finals... but the WAFC said they dont agree with that?
91.3 said this morning they had spoken to a couple of presidents and advised it was NOT TRUE. They tried to contact WAFC and 7 for comment... NO COMMENT. or one told them to talk to the other side..

FARK WHAT A PACK OF LOSERS THEY ARE.

Old men with their heads so far up there arses they have almost turned themselves inside out. But at the end of the day because of the Billions the AFL has compared to the WAFL they would be willing to make the WAFL the losers. It will happen.
