That's great to hear. I'm a teacher and kids do mostly play basketball, soccer and now American footy at lunch time. I get the footy out occasionally if I'm on duty. There's always some kids who can kick a footy. It's like a secret black art, though.

Id like to see someone teach the kids at Highgate the black art of a drop punt or torp. After primary school it's hard to learn them.

RL with my grandsons playing Ballajura juniors, last 3 years.Have been involved in East Perth Juniors.
Mt Lawley /Inglewood is the largest EP Junior Club .Allmost 3 full teams in each age group.
New Hamer Park Clubrooms + Cafeteria.Former Stirling Mayor involved.
Hundreds of fans watching Saturday mornings. Was told on a Friday night fixture last season. The cafeteria took 10k on a Friday night.
Mt Hawthorne,Coolbinya,Noranda also have great setups.
Well that’s promising GTR, because at the moment for better part of last season, only 9 of the 22 last were homegrown players, and under the current points cap that is unsustainable in the long term..I really believe the coastline theory and the further you are away from it the less likely you are going to be successful, and it’s no coincidence our most fruitful zone in the last 50 years, has been the country COASTAL Busselton Margaret river region. The newly acquired Ellenbrook area has for its size and scope been an underwhelming club list provider, and I’m very doubtful the touted move to nearby Brabham would be a raging success.

I can understand kids playing basketball or soccer JL,but hearing them play that stupid stop start yank game over footy really makes me puke.

RL the new northern rail extension runs two stops past Yanchep. And theirs housing estates south of Mandurah.
80% of the population live within 15 kms of the coast.
Thats a terrible scenario for the 3 Wafl eastern suburban clubs.Swans EP + Perth.
Ellenbrook really disappointing for a City of over ,85,000.Struggle to field one team in each grade and be competitive.Dont know whats wrong out their.Large amount of African boys playing also.

Yes GTR I think we’re demographically stuffed, particularly the Royals and Demons, and a lot of it is socioeconomic. My son recently ended his junior footy career for Coolbinia in the Royals zone and in his last couple of years, his side was pitted in a conference which also comprised teams from the Perth and Swan Districts zones.I never forget one particular game against Manning, who only had 14 available players and were about to forfeit. We had a full squad as well as a couple of emergencies,so we lent them 4 of our own and rotated them with another 4 at the end of each Quarter. The match got under way and after about 10 minutes into the game,a few of the ungrateful pricks started going head hunting, and one of them actually threw a punch, and I told our coach we should take our players back, and make the ungrateful morons forfeit, and of the 14,i doubt if too many of them actually reside in the suburb of Manning,But being the good citizens that we are,we maintained a stiff upper lip and played the rest of the game out,but I was left shaking my head and it’s not hard to see why certain league clubs are consistently floundering, and densely populated suburbs in our zone like Ellenbrook and Ballajura may have plenty of kids, but they are probably more motivated to drink, vape or smoke pot, than play WAFL footy.

How is that possible gtr? I think you’ll find the latest rail extension ends in Yanchep. There’s a brand new station that’s just recently opened in Eglinton where my son lives. Pretty sure there is nothing beyond Two Rocks and won’t be for a long long time. It will all creep inland for a very long time.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
