Richard Wallis is from East Fremantle. Listed at 199/102 age 21 and has not yet played a league game so low points if any. He also looks like he can play.
Only time will tell but both are promising IMO

Hey Smokey i reckon most of our players would look good playing against each other

nice size Wallis and looks better than how he plays sadly, struggled to get some reserves action at EF over the last few years though, never played in the ruck from memory, always seem to play as a KP or forward or back. Good luck to the fella, though didn't kill it in the B grade ammos at Willetton so definitely be surprised if he does anything more than strengthen your reserves side....but hey opportunity is a big thing so good luck to both parties.....

more concerned if Perth had snared young EF ruckmen in Fletcher or Solomon TBH.....especially Solomon who played under Earl at Wesley last year.....

Tell me Freezin, how do you have all this knowledge of EF boys and ammos players from the far away land of the long white cloud? Just curious. Just going on stats?

EF and WAFL fanatic mate..loved the WAFL of the 70's and 80's.....yeah stats via the internet are easy to get my hands on and freely admit to using them, but a lot of my info comes from my brother and a few mates down at EF giving me the low down on whose doing what, because they watch a lot of EF footy through all the grades during the season and have done so for decades.

DD try living in a country who has no interest in your favourite sport what so ever....its rugby rugby rugby here.....you do work that bit harder keeping yourself in the know and up to date with the WAFL.....be a long winter other wise if I didn't...

smokey wrote: Got down to training tonight to see the first intra-club match. I was surprised at the number of members and supporters who were there for the Friday night sundowner and to watch proceedings on the ground. Most were diehard Perth supporters but for a team whom everybody suggests will not win a game or at least will fill 9th place there are still plenty who try to keep the faith. Good to see.

A couple of standouts for me were (a), the apparent fitness of all the players. Very little flab to be seen and all appear in good shape for this time of the year. It remains to see whether they can all play.
And (b), a lot of new faces on the track. Too many to try and follow and check where they have come from but I do suspect that there are some ammos looking for a spot on the final squad. But there were some good types including some talls. But again, can they play?

There were 14 players who did not play in the game. All would be in our first 22 IMHO. The game was very fast and physical with some good efforts by several new players including two opposing ruckmen named Ironmonger and Wallis who both look likely prospects. I also liked the efforts of Garlett in the forward line.

Stacky has been training this week but was absent to attend the Indigenous All-Stars game tonight. Florio played so he is still on board. I believe that Joel Leeson has gone.

I heard from a reliable source that Hodgey is in some doubt to play footy again. Still has a problem with his arm which he favoured when kicking a ball around on the sidelines. That would be a huge tragedy for him and the club. I have had him pencilled in as a future captain for some time since Jarman commented on his leadership qualities. Let's hope there will be a better outcome for him.

The players that did play Smokey did anyone you recognise play in a different position than what we have seen in the past?

Not that I noticed Mr AFL.
As I said before there were a dozen or so players who did not play and they were mostly first 22players.

Might have to get down there this Friday and have a look myself.

Just on that Friday Night Sundowner, the club has been getting relatively good numbers overall I have been told. Have been down a couple of times myself and there was a decent crowd.

Leeson has gone. Wants to play with his brother and cousin in the country. Plus most of his mates no longer play with the club. Heard that Hodge won't play again. Broke his arm overseas and then didn't get it seen to for 3 weeks because of travel insurance issues. Arm has never properly set because of it. This is a tragedy for him and for the club.

more so Hodge I reckon PD, especially since his footy career probably has a window of say 10 years, whilst he could live for another 50.......PFC can find replacements for Hodge, can't say the same about the fella and his arm.....didn't the guy have travel insurance?....or just the standard of treatment on offer was a bit back street?

That seems to be the norm with this club.
Not news about who we have recruited its more about who's not playing.

Re-Hodge i knew at xmas that this was a real possiblity, the club would have known as well so for mine it wouldnt be a complete shock and a like for like replacement should be well and truely in the pipeline....yeah right!
