Lets hope he gets it right with what we need!

I hope we dont end up with a heap of amateur recruits in place of experienced recruits that we desperately need.
History shows not too many amateurs end up top graders, you may be lucky and snare one that makes the grade. and if they dont make it they dont hang around!

Memo Snake:
We need a tall key forward capable of being a focal point that can straighten us up,can take a big grab and knows how to kick a goal.
A tall key backman who is a pure defender.
Mature Ruckman and a quality mid or 2.
And thats just for starters.

I would start with Jason Porplyzia, has said that he will play at a lower level..somewhere,well recruiters get to it!

If the club backs him in and throws the resources in they gave to the last coach he will be well pleased.

From the player losses that are known at this stage I can identify 50 points for recruiting so we certainly have the scope. The trick will be to secure the right recruits to fill the gaps.

My priority would be Ali Smith.. 1 point player and a proven clearance player. Put him with Tropiano, White and Hodge and I would not see a problem with the midfield considering some good young prospects coming thru like Leggett, Browne, Edmonds etc.and of course assuming Chance goes around again.

I agree that recruits from the Ammos will not be the answer. Sure, there may be a standout come along but there will be no quality in numbers.

30+, your wish list is probably right. With Smith back I wouldn't think we need look for 2 quality mids. I would settle for the Porpoise but he would be a long shot get IMO.

I don't think that we should under estimate the potential of a young player squad but we must put emphasis on a much higher strength and fitness regime than we have seen in recent years.

As I said, 50 points to play with will be a handy position but then there is the salary cap restrictions and additional costs for possible re-settlement of players.

It will be an interesting exercise. I hope that we can get it right.

Number one recruit is a fitness regime.
Some quick calcs.
Depending on whether there is another 10 point departure, I reckon there are close to 50 points available.
My number one target would be to get Ali Smith back (1pt).
He would bolster our midfield given we now have Tropiano to help White and Hodge hopefully will be fit.
Maybe a classy Ross Young type if you can find one, not exactly a dime a dozen.
Number one concentration must be to replace Risol and provide him with help (so 2 tall defenders).
A key forward to help Busher out.
An experienced ruckman.
All achievable but not necessarily all of them will have played 100 AFL games.
We still have developing kids, they must be a focus.

We have lost Paul Bevan, 12 points, Jared Risol, 10 points, Matt Moody, 5 points, Nick Kane, 5 points. That's 32 points. Where do you boys get 50 points from? Has one of the Morton Boys left?

32 points is enough to address some of the issues within the team, not all of the but some. I would be trying to get Ali Smith, Julian Jacobs and Matt Tedesco back, get a key forward, key back and if there's enough points an A Grade midfielder.

Some one said another 10 pointer was going, haven't heard anything.
Forgot about Tedesko.
Yes I would be trying to get him back.
Julian Jacobs I'm not so sure, from what I've heard.

Can someone tell me why you guys keep insisting on getting certain players back even though when they were at the club they didn't improve the clubs performance? Talk about going round in bloody circles! First thing you lot need to change is the clubs culture!

Not a fan of Tedesco DF? I think for 2 points he would be a good addition to the team. Finished in the top 3 at the 2013 b&f.

I know these players have been at the club before and perhaps haven't made that big a difference as to how we have performed each year but those three I listed would still be on our best 22. With the points and salary cap you have to try and fill as many gaps in the list as possible and those three players I listed would have a total value of 5 or 6 points.

TFS Ali Smith is a good clearance player and good player. Tedesco has had a couple of Top 3 b&f finishes and is a good kick, can play midfield or off half back. Jacobs can play midfield and do a job down back as well.

I reckon PFC may get a few A Grade midfielders next year......a few from Earl Spaldings "A Grade" amateur club Wesley-Curtin ;)
