From where we are coming from...NO i dont think that would be a wise move.
It would be just to big a job to be a player,orginise recruiting and be the main man and i doubt also that you would be able to attract a good enough/experienced assistant for the sidelines,imo wouldnt work!

15 applicants,you would think at least 1 of those would be a good appointment...but this is the PFC we are talking about so anything is possible.

But heard Micale is an applicant.

Micale wouldn't be my first choice given his age but you have to be realistic, from where we are coming from a coach of his experience has to be seriously considered. He might attract a few of those EP boys with him.

My 2 first choices are not applying.
Micale would have to be considered IMHO despite his "age".
That is if he has applied.
Obviously not knowing who has applied makes it impossible to have an objective opinion.
I think people of his age have lots to offer.
Been in both AFL and WAFL systems has premierships behind him and knows what it takes from a training perspective.

Puts him there with Guerra as an option & who else may measure up.

Im hoping that with 15 applicants there's got to be at least a couple in there worth considering.

Micale at East Perth had the resources to get those 3 premierships,he had many top quality players and he had Bronte Howson,the Perth job is a much much tougher gig.
At 67 next season i would like to see someone a bit younger in the post.

I reckon Micale would be a great fit in the admin area at Perth,football manager perhaps.

If Perth were really serious they'd appoint Micale as Director of Coaching given its likely the new head coach won't have a great deal of experience. That way he can have direct input into the direction of coaching at the club without doing the day to day management of a group of players...much the same as Bomber Thompson and James Hird before the chit hit the fan and Malthouse and Buckley before Mick cracked the chits. I'm sure a new head coach like Guerra would appreciate a mentor or someone to bounce stuff off.

Yep,thats the sort of thing i was getting at BC.

yep...maybe someone like Micale as Director of Coaching could have pointed MacDud in the right direction...but then again maybe not.

Wasn't Earl Spaldings brother (Scott) on the board a couple of years ago? If he is I hope that isn't going to lead to some bias.

Scott's no longer on the board, for a year or so.
