What do the average Richmond Supporters say about Damien Hardwick? Richmond as a club seem to have had a similar 30+ years to Perth and Hardwick seems to be having a similar coaching career to McMahon.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

He got dropped for the East Perth game but didnt play and also he didnt play on the weekend.

Wouldnt be surprised if hes shot through.

He had a broken finger 30plus. A bloody shame as we really need him down back.

Fair enough,he was listed in the ressies team V East Perth, that must have been an error!

Those squads most of the time are useless. Players get named twice etc... Wouldn't put it past the clubs either to but in false information to keep the opposition guessing.

DF - I am not into insulting anyone.

I asked the question what does the average Richmond supporter say about the future of Damien Hardwick remaining at the helm of Richmond.

I then noted the similarities in both coaches careers in their job.

Hardwick is in his 5th year and has finished 12th, 12th, 10th, 7th and now this year.

McMahon is in his 4th year and has finished 6th, 8th, 6th and now this year.

Pretty similar and I am wondering if the Richmond supporters are calling for his head.

Actually I will add another question to this. Do all of you who support Perth and say McMahon has no idea - do you all say Hardwick has no idea as well?

Lol comparing Mcdud with Hardwick is absolute crap, I find it ironic this bloke keeps whinging about the lack of supporters at Perth games and had a crack at people for not travelling to Kal well mate the main reason supporters are falling away is because of the person in charge.

Listened to the Master show on 91.3 Saturday 8am and they always interview a ex player etc.
Thought of you guys as the guest was Muddy Waterman who has been tied up for a couple of years but stated he would love to come back to coaching next year.
Just food for thought. I know some dont like him but he has a good record.
The shows not up on 91.3 yet but worth a listen.
You could do worse.
Your president certainly came out with a lot of good options the other day on WAFL WORLD. Last week. He wasnt running your coach down and was just answering a question.

The show can be heard at

Richmond are typical of a struggling club that makes poor decisions. They had one ok year by their mediocre standards. Made the 8 and lost to a team that came into the 8 by default and they give Hardwick a contract extension. I see many similarities between Richmond and the Perth FC. So are you happy to compare ourselves with a club that continues to find a way to fail?

We need to look at what's happening at Melbourne and throw the kitchen sink at a proven coach or we will continue to fail.

Thanks for a thought out answer DD. I am constantly disappointed by the ridicule of previous posts that have nothing to do with the post. You don't seem to do that.

I am not happy to compare ourself to a club that continues to find a way to fail I simply am. And I am simply comparing our coaches record to Hardwicks.

I am saying very little on my thoughts re the appropriateness of appointing a new coach. I just find a lot of the criticism of McMahon simplistic.

People will say he wasn't a footballers arsehole and therefore should not be listened to. Voss was and is gone. In our league Haselby was and is under pressure.

People will say he doesn't yell and scream enough and therefore no one listens. Woosha didn't yell and scream (much). He won a flag. Hardwick wears his heart on his sleave but this doesn't seem to help.

People called for Joyces head - he went on to win a flay with Hawthorne.

These players constantly let out coach down. He drops one he is panned. He keeps playing one he is panned.

Waterman, Watters are not going to inspire. Harvey cant communicate (for mine). Harris has got some runs on the board and I will be there regardless but there is no magic anywhere. We have turned coaches over for 35 years including favorite sons like Wiley and Armstrong. We are probably going to do it again. But what the club needs (again for mine) is supporters - that and the players to pull there finger out at important times of the game. And oh 30+ a tall strong marking forward would be nice.

You are absolutely right to point to the parallel between Perth and Richmond, both histories are profoundly dark. I think that the situation with Perth's coach will play itself out in due course, in the meantime the players should give of their best according to their abilities. In this respect, people should remember that an under manned team has lost to two of the top sides in the competition in a fortnight. In terms of a comparison between Hardwick and Mcmahon, there is little doubt that the Richmond fellow has been given an easy ride and should have gone two years ago. I have a question for Perth supporters, if someone would be good enough to respond: Why was ken Armstrong sacked in 1979 after one lowly season? In the answer, could be an explanation, at least in part, for the last 40 years.

Richmond supporters when the coaches time is up are amongst the worst going around.
Hardwick will be no different and if Richmond keep losing he will feel the wrath of the Tiger supporter.

Everyone over the years has seen it first hand on TV,the Tiger supporters after another loss and dismal year charge towards the race where the players and coach walk off saliva flying everywhere and let them have it verbally, they are seen burning, ripping up and tossing in the bin there membership cards!

Don't worry the Richmond supporter is starting to show there displeasure by not turning up,the weekends crowd numbers show that where only 22,000 turned up!!
In comparison the Perth supporter is "too nice" and they need to vent there anger and thoughts on sites like this, forget going straight to the club,we are perceived by them as idiots that dont know what we are talking about!!!!

McMahon fails to inspire,he has failed to alter the game plan enough to make a difference,he has recruited the wrong type of player to the club...eg he has recruited 10 point players that are either not what was needed or are not up to it!!
He has taken this team nowhere in his time and at this point we will fall lower on the ladder than last season,a wooden spoon is not out of the equation either...do you honsetly want to keep him on??

We need a coach that has been there and done that...more than once would be even better.,forget the rookies, forget the coaches that are perceived as "not liked" forget the coaches that have struggled with other teams and forget the coaches that walked into "already" made gun teams...ala Subi coaches and were gifted flags!
