He's the pick of the bunch. German & Watters won flags with a team that I could have coached to a flag. Harris would be a huge asset to you boys.
2x25= Seinor and Michael = 1xBrian Peake

Woosha will be up for the challenge I reckon.....Haze has the SF job for life....though to be honest I reckon Bevan should be captain/coach for the interim until a successor is found.....loads of experience, well respected and played a wee bit more footy than Macca has or did.

It is hard to say whether or not he should see out the year.

Do we go with one of the Assistants? Maybe Trevor Williams? He has experience as a head coach but then you run the risk of him winning more games than he losses and potentially getting the job full time. Nothing against Trevor but is he our next coach? I don't think so.

Maybe appoint Kade Lang who is a former Perth player and has been coaching in the system for three years. However make sure he knows it's only for the rest of the season.

Paul Bevan as captain/coach would be an interesting move. When was the last captain coach at any WAFL club? Bevan has been here three years. I personally would be very surprised if he went on next year. Not saying that I have heard anything just my personal opinion. There were murmurs last season that he might be heading back home and with a player his age, these feelings will only get stronger. Add to that the fact that we haven't performed this season and he might just say thanks for the three years but I'm done.

A big factor in player retention could be who the coach is next year and which potential recruits the club are looking at.

He needs to go now,he's not going to improve and he's not going to get any more out of his team.

There's no risk with a caretaker coach, you put Williams in there(theres no one else) and tell him that its short term till the end of the season only regardless of results and we will be looking elsewhere for a senior coach for next season.

I think we may lose a few players for next season regardless of what happens now (the damage has probably already been done!) and who coaches next season,a guy like Paul Bevan has probably already decided what he's doing next season, hopefully it involves us!

Lucifer wrote: When Paul Roos took over as coach of Melbourne he said 'You know whats wrong with this club? There are too many red and blue people running it". The same can be said for Perth. Too many people who have the black and red coloured glasses on leading this club into the wilderness year in and year out and accepting poor performances year in year out! Marty Atkins was one of the first non Perth people to hold down a major administrative role and it shouldn't end with him. Clear out the coffers I say and lets build this house from the ground up instead of replacing a tile here or fixing a door there!

Vince, Neil and Darryl have all served the club well, they are all great blokes and they love the club as much as any supporter but the same was said for those in control at Melbourne. Lets get some people in (starting with the coach) who are paid to bring success to the club. For too long now statements like 'oh unlucky johnny' or ' we will do better next week' have been accepted by the football dept and administration of this club!!

We need fkn truckloads of change right now it and I don't mean the players! :huh:

Have to agree Lucifer. There are a lot of very good people around the club doing a lot of hard work, most of it voluntary, but the same people have been doing the work for too long now and we need fresh blood on board to take us forward.
We badly need change and a lot of fresh thinking else we will hit the wall sooner rather than later.
Having said all that, it is not easy to find the right people with the time, the energy, the commitment and focus, the accumen and the passion. It seems that Marty has been consistent with the message ever since he arrived at the club and IMO we need to find more like minded people to reinforce his message.
We must not be the joke of the competition any longer!!!

reckon WCE will find a spot for Darren within their organization pretty quick.....guys of his ilk are not easily come by these days......as for loyalty, reckon Glass has more Blue/Gold blood than red/black black coursing through his veins .....270 games pints of the stuff....

Glass oozes character and respect....something DM doesnt, hasnt and never will bar at the country level at best.....open that war chest boys!
