Let’s hope so, fingers and legs crossed. Our club has a habit of being the “Nearly” club. We nearly got this one and nearly got that one. Let’s hope the new year brings us some good news.

Here you go Time. Happy New Year to all.

Get on your bike.

Would be a very handy pick up for the future.
Not sure that many paper bags would be required but a regular game may get him to Lathlain.
Get him in there with 2 Dads and help him develop.

Not too many points either.
Smart recruiting.
I don't see much of a future for Ajang as a ruckman at the Club.
What are your thoughts on him playing a role up forward.
Tall big bodied forward in the goal square.

Can't blame the young fella one bit for seeking opportunities elsewhere. Reckon Peel might be reluctant to let him go, but the youngster deserves some exposure to regular league footy. Perth probably gives him the best opportunity out of all the WAFL clubs for that. Be interesting to see how he develops, surprised he missed out on being drafted TBH.

In my (rather harsh) opinion, we have 2 ruckmen at the club and yet our best player for that position is a utility and permanent ressies player: Christian Martin. DBW wins many taps but outside of that forget it. It’s like being a player down when he’s out there. Ajang can at least compete in the stoppages and gets around the ground to take the odd mark. But he needs alot of work. If he is willing to put in the hard yards then i see him improving under German, and hopefully growing into a key FWD/ruck. While Martin battles manfully and does get possessions around the ground along with the odd goal, he is obviously not the answer. Broadbent will be a welcome addition and we can hopefully see a couple of good years out of him as he develops into an AFL player.

Sorry - but just watching the 2021 Ressies GF. Can someone tell me what happened to Jack Steel - He is looking great at full forward in this game
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

he starred for Railways in Kalgoorlie in 2022. Presumably will be playing for them again this year

IMO we must be careful not to raise expectations of this kid if he joins us. He is a talent and must have only just missed out on being drafted but may be picked up next time around.
Young ruckman take time to develop and we may not see anywhere near his future potential.

My mail is that H Busher is playing on. That would be a relief as we need him to play as a key defender. We only have Sinclair and Avery as 190cm + defenders, and both of them prefer a running off/intercept marking game rather than standing a big opponent like Keitel or Waterman. Key forwards remain a problem. Getting Bradtke would be a huge boost. Otherwise, there's Quartermaine. After that, it's a struggle to find talls. I don't think Bird is good enough. Maybe AJ, with Martin 2nd ruck?

He is our best defender and is also our best key forward. If we didn’t need him so much in defence he would make our fwd line potent with Quartermaine and Bradtke.
