It's my bet you'll see a change in direction and intensity from pretty much day 1 as Germo is a very demanding coach and if anyone doesn't want to buy in then see you around. He was certainly the driving force in setting Subi up for sustained success in the early 2000's but he did have a very supportive Board and CEO so hopefully Perth will give him the same.

We have to remember that German is taking over a list almost completely devoid of top end talent. We definitely need some serious recruiting. We should have a truck load of points. During/after 2021, we lost Masten, Gray and Langlands. (32p) This year we have lost Ainsworth and Smith, another 20. I'd be inclined to give Ajang the boot as well, freeing up another 5. But please tell me we're not talking to players like Jackson Nelson and Zac Langdon.

What happened to Ainsworth? I wasn’t impressed with him anyway. No loss if he’s walked in my opinion.

Ted, we cannot recruit a whole team. IMO we have to work from what we have already got and that is a basic core of players from which to build a new team. Yes, we should have enough points but we must use them wisely, due our due diligence and not waste points on rejects. Poach the best and forget the rest. If we are smart we should have good dept hand be competitive in all grades.
Good point on Nelson and Langdon. I would have expected that we have already spoken with them. Fingers crossed. They would have had phone calls from most clubs by now. There may be more to follow up. Just hope that we are already in the game.

Have we ever picked up an ex Eagle that worked out for us? Remember Travis Gasper? Absolute flop, mostly due to injuries. Chis Masten was very good up until he broke his thumb against Claremont. The next year he was hobbling around on one leg. Ainsworth was a total disappointment.

Ted have Ainsworth and Josh Smith definitely left the Club?
I agree Ajang is an example of our inept use of points.
And agree, let him walk.
We should have a load of points available.
I would think German would have more idea of identifying talent than any of our football department.

DD Masten should never have been recruited, it was common knowledge except for me, that he had bone rubbing on bone in his knee.
Neither should Ajang, he was always going to be a reserves/top up player.
Can't afford to spend points on anything other than A grader.
We have a whole history of them.
Frankly Langlands was another.
German does the recruiting and I would have thought that would have been a criteria placed on the Club.

I disagree on Ajang. Worth persisting with and let’s see if Peter German can bring the best out of him. I thought he was unlucky to be dropped early in the season unless there were “other reasons”. I thought he was contributing well in tandem with 2dads.

How many points is Gangajang? We practically paid nothing for him, straight swap for ET who I think played just one or two league games and probably dropped his lip and gone walkies again.

On Masto, I think he was leading the Sandover medal before he got injured.
