Taking the game on is fine if the blokes forward of the carrier are in position, which was our issues over the last 5 or 6 years. Again you need to have the cattle fit enough and quick enough to get back for when the ball's turned over.  Not blaming him, but how many times did Davis take on the game out of defence last year only to turn the ball over and  getting hurt the other way. 

Agreed PD. If it is to be a "take the game on " style, then all the players must know their roles in the overall game plan and have the right level of fitness to execute. You are right. How often do we allow easy turnovers and get steamrolled on the rebound.

Get down to training and you’ll see Rumble and Priddis showing the backs how to defend and you’ll see German explaining how he wants the ball moved and yep, it’s through the corridor. The whole team is being re-wired.

You’ll also see some interesting drills with tennis balls.

New take it on style of play means our skills need to improve and it sounds like that is being worked on.
We have also bolstered our midfield.
Charlie Thompson, Jye lane and Cody Howard seem pretty skilled and will hopefully add some pace.
Their highlights I saw looked pretty good.
Add Manzone to that.
With WP',s announcement his name will go up very soon.

The clearance for Manzone must be close to being done.
He has been removed from the WP list on the WAFL site.
No longer on the WP site either.

We've got to hope he doesn't appear on the EF list.

 

WP announced he was coming to Perth

Don't think Manzone fits a need for EF, 31 yr old midfielder, think EF already have enough quality in their midfield.....good get for Perth though, they need all the experience and quality they can get in their side.
