Smokey, we are yet to be confirmed as one of the "two participating clubs" and we should not participate. WAFL clubs hold the aces here. If clubs don't agree to this model, the Eagles have to decide between ammos or playing players throughout the WAFL. Why should we make it easy for them? What's in it for us? Unlike an alignment model, we wouldn't get any financial benefit. The players themselves? Big deal. Who wants Jarrod Cameron? Or what if you get lumped with a project player like Riach? There are no advantages that I can see, none that are worth the scorn that other clubs' fan would heap on us. 

On another issue - do we look at getting Kieran Hug back next year? I never rated him at Perth, but he seemed to be reasonably effective as a small forward at WC this year. We tried Quill and Browne in that role without much success.

The article about WC said that if the idea came to fruition, the 4 or 5 players allocatted to a WAFL club eg Perth, would not be required to play under WC instructions, the PFC would use them however they wished, to play their game plan and the positions they choose that suits their own needs.

Yes, they will likely be first, second or even third year draftees. Unlikely that players like Bayley Williams ( he would be great) etc will be allocatted. Could we get a different 5 players each week or would they be allocatted for the whole season.
Have to wait and see what the details are.

Stop talking about this as if it is a good thing. We don't want an alignment. An arrangement whereby Eagles players play for Perth and perhaps only one other WAFL club is still an alignment. I don't care if we have control over the players or not. This is exactly the argument EP have been running for 20 years, that we only had a small number of AFL guys, it was only a partial alignment, and we won flags on our merits. It was bullshit when they said (and continue to) and it will be bullshit if we try to rationalise this. I cannot see any benefit. Of the 5 players, chances are only a couple would be any good, so the on0field benefit would be minimal. We save a few match payments, but financially there wouldn't be much in it. What would happen is years of the same scorn and derision from other WAFL fans that has been rightly heaped on EP. DON'T DO IT!!! 

Quite right STD and they can take those couple of million dollars they have agreed to dropped on your club as well, anything to do with WC is just not welcome!!

Do you and your soul mate really believe if you injected Munro,Antonowicz,O'brien Humm 20 years ago you would've been a powerhouse ???????Probably explains why your club has been in a 40 year funk you  clueless deluded man.

Any way Ted and STT if this mooted agreement between yourselves and the Eagles comes to fruition,and then results in a most coveted premiership,i will be the first opposition supporter to extend my hand out and offer you hearty congratulations!!!!!!!
