We lack genuine pace from backs to mids to forwards.
We lack a ruckman at the club that can take marks and influence a game.
We lack Kpp’s that can take a game by the scruff of the neck.
We lack skill, simple things like hitting a player up 20 metres away.
Our hand balling is like pass the parcel, deer in the headlights stuff.
We are the worst team in the comp for “ guarding space”
Teams just waltz out of our forward line into there forward in line.
We are nothing more than witches hats.
Under no pressure.
Half way point and our seasons cooked, another early mothball season
Nothing seems to change

Well done EF. Thoroughly deserved that win today with the intensity of effort you brought to the contest. Killed us for speed all day. Played brave footy all day and I hope you go on with it over the next few weeks.

As for my mob, lame, tame and fkn disconnected from midfield to forward line all day long. We absolutely surrendered the corridor to EF who owned it all day.

All our goals came from leading marks yet we persisted with bombing it in the fkn air going forward. Out coached, out done on effort, out done on skills. How the fk do we come back from this???

Cary and Stubbs looked dangerous at times. McInnes was excellent early. Grey got shut down by Davies. You’ll get better- best you brought those guys in because if you didn’t you would’ve been pumped. Busher struggled on Marsh as well.

Grey looks to have needed the run. Sinclair although good today lacked his usual timing. Bush not the star he has been since returning - fair enough. Langlands and Rogers to improve. Will probably beat South next week
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I thought Cary was going to be the one to take the game away from us, but he was battling on his own at times.  I also thought McInnes was probably among your very best till fatigue set in.was very happy we were able to stem every challenge you threw at us.

Sadly, not what we wished for, but what many feared.  My real concern is if this lot can't deliver in the next couple of years (and I have some sympathy for those returning after long absences this week). then the future doesn't look too promising.  And life's getting a bit short.

Clearly too many players were underdone and lacking their usual run and spark. Gibba and Taylor are desperately required down back.

Rogers has to be axed his output is way down on what is expected. McPartland only managed 10 possessions today in the reserves so I'm guessing he got injured. Quill got 37 posessions so he's put his hand up and Yeo has to come under consideration.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Can someone please remind me about Quill. Where is he from. What possie? Why maligned?

Also any feedback on Avery?

How quickly hope turns to despair. I still think we had to do it given the importance of the game, but clearly a number of the guys who came back were underdone. Worst game I've seen Busher play at any club. Likewise Grey. Masten got a bit of the footy, but his disposal was dreadful. After coughing it up at least three times in the first quarter, he seemed to panic and just started banging it on the boot or firing out handballs that put the receiver under pressure. Langlands did a couple of classy things but didn't get enough of it and made one bad mistake that cost a goal. Sinclair and McInnes not bad, though McInnes didn't take any marks in dangerous areas. Rogers - too old, too slow, been a good WAFL player over a long time, but time's up. He didn't even have the excuse of being underdone.

Positives... hopefully those players will be better for the run, but it's almost certainly too little, too late from here. 9 games to go and with out terrible %, we are effectively 2 games out of the 5. A few players were ok: Byrne, Clarke, Colledge, Nicholas. I thought Avery did a decent job and is clearly a player of the future. I'll put some more thoughts up on a new thread. Yes, I'm afraid so - the "Planning for 2022" thread. At least it's coming up at the half way mark this year - usually we know after about 3 games that our season is gone. For 2021, yes injuries have been bad, but our home losses to SD, PT and now EF are inexcusable. We fielded decent teams in those games, and PT and EF were undermanned.
