Really enjoyed the can bar as usual , is it true the old stand will be demolished next year and replaced with a new state of the art stand , will be sad if cage bar goes , Hope they retain a new one.

Anyway all in all it will be a great fabulous addition and example of how a smaller venue can work well

Good on you Bazza, I agree, it is a great set up developing at Lathlain. The atmosphere last night was electric, the lights are fantastic and another great contest like last year against SF. Apart from the shite music blaring out from the hill it was a top night.

I was not sure that I had come to the right place last night. Had to park a fair way away and could hear that loud head banging stuff as I got out of the car. Thought I had arrived at a rock concert.
Yes, as a Perth member I am proud of what the club has achieved at the ground in conjunction with Town Of Victoria Park and WCE. It is a great venue with all the atmosphere you get from a small crowd venue.
Now to get our new premises started. I believe that demolition of the old grandstand will commence soon after the season has finished. Our new home will be the last piece of the jigsaw to complete a fantastic community based complex.
I think that it heralds a new exciting era for PFC both on and off the field.

Well done D's and all the long suffering Perth boys on here. Well earned win and you actually earned your spot in the finals with that win. Nothing to lose from here so leave nothing on the paddock next week v the Debt Dodgers. Will have a massive following from the non participating teams supporters.

Well, well, well where do I start. Still floating in football finals heaven. Firstly thanks to all the well wishers from opposition supporters. We give each other a lot of stick but I think bottom line is everyone wants to see a club that is starved of success turn it around.

I really didn’t want to go yesterday after last weeks performance, it was only thanks to a mate who talked me into it. I was probably still only 50/50 two hours before the game. I went with no expectations whatsoever so I wasn’t going to be disappointed.

Had a nice chat with Masto after walking through the outer gates where there was some extra fridges set up in front of the can bar and Masto was promoting his beverages. You can tell this bloke is highly invested in this club and I reckon he will be the recruit of the decade for the PFC.

He was one of the first to jump the fence and go nuts when the final siren went you could see right there how much it meant to him. 30plus he is wearing a guard on his right hand so I’d say he’s no chance, too bigger risk to further damage.

When I finally made it around to the members area after being trapped by the South boys warming up behind the goals, I heard people talking about how much WP are up and then later that EP had snuck into the four at Subi’s expense.

Ok I thought, still not believing because of who we were up against and our terrible performance last week against Swans. But by the time the first qtr was over I started to believe but then we were saying South could put in a 10 minute spurt like WP did to us about a month ago and it’s all over. But no the boys hung tough. I think we kicked a goal just after the siren at half time and Rogers did the same at 3 qtr time.

So, we were in exactly the same position as we were 12 months ago down at Chunderfield where we couldn’t quite get the job done. Missed by a bees dick.

This time there was a belief and a stronger determination. No one was going to quit, no one was going to lose a contest. I don’t care how ugly it was, it was character building stuff and now the players know the standard they have to execute week in week out to be a finals team.

In a first semi final against finals regulars a West Perth. I don’t care about bogeys. We’ve played them twice this year, won the pre season game and lost the real one after a Keitel second qtr blitz. We know we can match them, we know we can beat anyone.

A great feeling today. Wasn't able to stay for the match but I watched the whole of the Ressies - who also won by about 3 points. New technology saw me able to watch a replay of the League game on the net through Facebook where I didn't even have to have a Facebook account.

I thought Richardson, Taylor, College, McPartland, Fisher, Rogers and Fraz were excellent.

Marshall Jones had his best game for us.

Eyers was good, some good taps and got the ball onto his boot quickly a couple of times - Seems a good match up for Higgins as someone else on here said.

Sinners, Grey, McDonald were solid.

O'Driscoll building nicely.

I am still getting use to Coniglio, Hill and Regan Clark so can't comment much.

Cant remember Delahunty doing that much - but he has proven himself over the year.

Giblett and Nicholas were dour - just as beckman should be.

I can't remember much from Austin Davis - that's not to say he did no good.

Brent Edmonds - 85 games - is he worth persevering with?

Sorry to those I left out.

In the Ressies I remember

Lennon Marlin doing very well. Kristian Cary looking pretty good. Nyika John providing a contest. Guy Langdon looking more composed than most. Lachlan Dennis - fair. Dakota Baldwin-Wright - OK but I don't think he did enough to put Eyers out this week.

The only change I would think about is Edmonds out (I like the guy and I wouldn't want to be the one calling it) for either Cary, John or Dennis to move to the Wing.

Saying that I thought Marlin was the most composed Perth Reserve yesterday.

As a side - I have seen Zarath Roe being talked about favourably, he did nothing when I was watching him - in the difficult posse of forward pocket.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I have just spent a splendid Sunday afternoon watching a replay of yesterday's game.
Same result as yesterday.
The clown who called most of the action was disgraceful. FRS you had better look for someboby better than this.
I counted 20 occasions (probably missed some ) where he called the wrong Perth player including several times he called players who were not even playing. I was not counting the Souths' players though I remember on 4 or 5 occasions he called Suban when it was Rioli.
Pity to spoil a very good presentation in other respects with incompetent commentators

True Smokey I think Fraser McInnes had about 4 or 5 different names yesterday my only defence of the caller's is it's the first year live streaming WAFL I'm pretty sure so maybe they haven't previously been WAFL regulars like you and me. Hopefully they'll be more acquainted with WAFL player's next year and study the budget before the game.

Even more embarrassing last week Mark Readings (a Perth supporter) picked out a spectator sitting near the Perth bench and said that's former Perth champ Murray Couper. Goes to show how out of touch he is and he also called a lot of Perth player's by the wrong name. Some had played reserves. And he's on good coin. :silly:

The reason I ask about Masten is Jack Redden from the Eagles did his thumb a couple of weeks ago and had a plate inserted and is available for the first week of the finals barely 4 weeks from when he injured it and had surgery close to the same length of time as Masten.
I know not all injuries have the same comeback time but I live in hope that it’s at least discussed at the coaches table this week.

There is always a chance but IMO probably won't play.
Breaks to fingers and thumbs are all very different. Depends where and how severe the break may be and what treatment and recovery is required.
He went from cast to guard last week so you might say he is a chance but IMO I don't think he will play.
