Predictable lineups for both teams. SF look strong enough to win.
It would be a huge tanking if we beat them.

We don't and we won't tank.

Good for you. I would not expect that you would.

SF far too strong across all lines. Cary and McCarthy are named in reserves so I'd expect Eyres, Colledge, Rogers and Davis to come in from the extended bench. I have changed my tune from earlier in the year in terms of ruckmen. I now think we need to play a dedicated ruck. I am still concerned that neither Eyres nor DBW don't do nearly enough around the ground, particularly taking marks. But structurally we look better with Dela and CHF and McInnes and McDonald in the full forward line. Just hoping we can be competitive.

From here we will start the familiar task of looking to the next season. Provided they are fit, the midfield on paper - Byrne, Yeo, Masten, Grey - should be ok. We are unlikely to find someone to kick as many goals as McDonald, but we need a good small forward who can both kick goals and lock the ball in. We need another good key defender so Sinkers can play his intercept game. We need a fast, run and carry winger. In short, we need players we don't have coming through and probably can't recruit in a single off-season.

Absolutely no imagination shown at the selectors table. It was an opportunity to make a statement and they went the safety first cowards option. Just like Ross Lyon at Fremantle, when things aren't going well go back to the tried and failed because you are more familiar with them.

Should have been minimum 4 changes this week and one of them should not be Eryes.

It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Eyres has a pretty good record against Higgins. I’m glad they’ve brought him back for this game.Higgins is not overly tall but he’s very strong and quite skilful for a big bloke. If DBW played it would be a huge task. The other option which is a bit left field is play Gibbo in the ruck and they could have brought in Langdon. A big risk I know but we need to try something. You’re right DD there needed to be some changes after last week’s debacle. Burke should have come in for sure and maybe risk Cary. Edmonds very lucky to be playing.

I notice that Levien is playing league for South tomorrow and Ninyette named in the reserves.
His first game I think.
