We will know if we are any chance to make the four by qtr time on Saturday arvo when we start at 4.30pm. For me there has to be changes and a player I have been keeping an eye is African boy Nyika John. Strong body and good user of the footy on either foot. I'd love to see him make his debut. Plays down back and that's where we are vulnerable.

Cary also looked in good form on the weekend and I think it was a big mistake dropping 2dads against Swans. Gault dominated and I think DBW could have at least halved the contests.

Outs for me would be Henderson, Edmonds and Davis. All 3 turn the ball over too much. Also think Payne is on borrowed time, it's one thing to try and stifle a opposition player but you have to be able to win the ball yourself and do something with it.

Nicholas had a shocker as did Hill but I can only see Langdon as the only one replacing either of those and we need height down back. Coniglio is one of the fittest players at the club so I think he needs to spend more time on the ball. Can switch him down back if the need arises.

For me it's
B. John Giblett Hill
HB. Taylor Sinclair Nicholas
C. O'Drisoll Colledge Coniglio
HF. Cary McInness Rogers
F. Richardson McDonald Jones

R. Baldwin-Wright, Fisher, Grey

Int. Delahunty, Clarke, McPartland, Langdon, Johnson

Outs. Henderson, Davis, Edmonds, Payne

I can't see us winning this game as much as would like to finishing on a winning note.
We wont play finals once more. So close but not good enough.
I think you are on the right track DD. I too like Nyika. Has a good solid body and does have some skill. Time to give him a try.
As for the rest, I can see quite a few players who will move on or be moved on during the off season. Time for a few changes in the football department both on and off the field.

I think Subi beat WP comfortably and we will lose to SF comfortably. With EP likely to flog Peel, that will relegate us to 6th, for the third year running. Since we got docked points from our player cap after finishing 6th in 2018-9, who knows that the WAFC has in store to quell our influence after backing up this year.

The reality is that we have just hit the wall in terms of players. We are heavily reliant on our best players, who are missing. A guy like Payne can only play as a tagger, but with our entire midfield bar Grey missing, he is expected to get his own ball, which he is incapable of doing. SF will expose us badly for pace, skill and simple ball getting ability. That means that our strongest line, the forwards, just won't get enough delivery to kick a winning score, and our weakest line, defence, will be overwhelmed. I just hope for a credible performance. I think a loss under 5 goals would be pretty good given that SF are, on paper, at least a 10 goal better team. We can only hope that our players have enough pride after last week to finish the season strongly, and that SF are a bit off the boil with nothing to play for.

Grey played with a tight hammy on Saturday. He started forward and came off early for a rub down pointing the physio to high on his hammy. Must have loosened up he went into the centre after half time but lacked his usual explosiveness I thought. I think they’ll look after him this week on the track.

It's going to take a miracle. Something we haven't had at Lathlain in 30+ years, maybe since Browny turned up. We are the Bermuda Triangle of the WAFL

Won't be travelling up to see us get slaughtered.
Sending their Colts side out could be embarrassing.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

I'd love to see Niki John make his debut and if he's within 70m of goal to just have a ping. Worked last time he tried it.

I could be wrong but I think I heard his team mates calling him Neeka. Nyika John.

As John Townsend said we have to make up 70 points.

It’s not impossible that WP beat Subi by 35 and we beat SF by 35 but VERY UNLIKELY.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
