Correct, the LNG industry in this state alone is a multi Billion dollar industry , that employs thousands of people and creates billions of dollars of export revenue and tax recipes from the nation, there is more impressive projects coming on stream soon with processing of Browse on the Karratha Burrup which will mean expansion of the current trains , more investment and more work, the international demand for LNG is growing at exceptional rates, then of course there is also the NT and Queensland LNG, couple that with our Iron Industry ( we supply high grade clean burning low emission ore compared to other producers) WA alone is keeping the nation afloat export wise. Then there is the multi Billion dollar coal industry with demand increasing from India steadily...anyone who thinks some fantasy renewables industry would be able to match the above in investment, profits, revenues and jobs is so deluded its not funny.

Baz i m pretty sure LNG is pretty friendly to the environment. Do you know anything about Clean Coal Technology.

It's time we changed our political system like the American system. If that means we become a republic so be it. That way, they can all run against each other to be the nominee to run for government and President of Australia and it is US who decides who leads the country NOT the selfish parties and ambitious self centred individuals. And then our President can run a maximum of two terms so there is a guarantee of a handover in the top job.

David Speers (Sky News) has said that to his knowledge neither Cormann nor Cash have resigned.

That doesn't mean they support the PM Swannie.

There would be none of that under Trump.

China really quiet on a lot of things like Trade and expansion. So Trump is saving the world from Global Conflict by seeing through there bull's hit.

And now a petition is apparently doing the rounds at the house in blundersville asking for the resignation of the PM!
Obviously when the government is supposed to be governing, doesn't seem to be much cohesion going on. We could easily have 'another' unelected PM by the end of the week if the reports are true. I wonder if the new pm will set about tackling the high cost of power to businesses and households? Or will all that be suddenly forgotten about? Or is he happy to stand back and watch whilst we continue to get scammed and ripped off!

Bloody hell DD, Be very CAREFUL what you wish for with that statement.
If all the plonkers in blundersville can't get it right in the current climate, it's going to be worse if we become a republic.

Dullard would never have got elected in the first place. She only got in because her party knifed the one we voted for, went up against the hard to like Abbott and did a deal with the devil to form government. Have you forgotten?

Under a Republic system if Rudd was the elected head of state I believe we would have been better off. He and his party would have no choice but to work together and run the country instead of being pre occupied with polls and backstabbing each other to change Prime Minister which has set Australia on a farcical trend that makes a mockery of the country.

What other country can you name that changes its leaders with such predictable regularity? We are so good at it we end up the butt of jokes on late night television internationally.

It looks like Dutton doesn't want to be referred to the HC and is going to mount a challenge tonight.

Desperate Dutton has released legal advice that he is eligible to sit in parliament. HOWEVER, Desperate Dutton's legal advice is dated 6 months BEFORE a change to legislation that could impact on his eligibility to sit in parliament. In other words the LEGAL ADVICE is not worth a pinch of salt.

The first thing that should happen when parliament sits today is to refer Desperate Dutton to the High Court to determine his eligibility to sit in parliament.

Bazza as opposed to the rabble we have now?

Neg 1.0; 2.0; 3.0 . . .

The final tranche of the tax cuts to big business: GONE, BURIED and CREMATED. Either Cormann, Morrison et al were lying previously about the impact of the benefit of those tax cuts. If they weren't lying then surely it would be a very big part of an election campaign.

etc. etc. etc.

Turnbull should see the GG and call an election to sort this mess out. Leave it to the electors to determine whether this rabble should be thrown out.
