Seems a shame to give up all the hard work he put in last year. Will he be back at Sawn Districts at any stage this year? I reckon he will.

Lets hope he goes back to Swans, but he could go to West Perth too. :P

Wherever he goes now he 'wont' be a Positive influence....
I'm afraid that without a goal to achieve apart from 'personal' young Garlet will be in turmoil for a long long time...
Besides that, he's not a go get player, never has been - he's a 'give it to me' - WP don't need him!!
Maybe back home at the Swans he'll have better support?

Dayle Garlett was one of my favourites as a good footballer to watch and a lot of skills. Tore us up a couple of times. Would be a handy player in any WAFL team. Dont think WP will get him as we have most probably run out of points due to penalty we got?
All the best to him in his footy career. Would like to see him back at Swans.

I don't think he will be at Swans in the near future although Greg Harding was his manager if I'm not mistaken so he may have been the one sorting the quick release.

I think Mikes reference to him ending up at West Perth was a piss take on the Falcs getting Kraks. Obviously if he played back in the WAFL it's vital for the comp he goes back to swans. Not just for the sake of the Swans who lost lots of top players but I've always said when a team provides the pathway to the AFL they should repay them by returning there. A bit hypocritical I know that Perth have ended up with 3 Morton's but Claremont stuffed things up with Jaryd so we've reaped the benefits by getting his brothers

I was just putting it out there so we could get another $15,000 transfer fee out of WP if he decides not to pay footy at all :)

Swans really could do with with him though.

My daughter got picked up driving in Melbourne on a WA licence and was told by the Police Officer that if she stayed, or had an intention of staying in Victoria for more than three months she needed to get a Victorian licence. On that note, The Hawks look like they didn't do their due diligence on Garlett (again) as he burnt them with the story he was coming over to get a WA licence when we all know differently, that he didn't have the guts to tell them face to face he was taking off and not returning.

Tell me, does anyone know if he did his driving test to get his licence??

My thought
I have to say I have little regard for Garletts plight and decision making... there its out there and I've said it. Now let me vent/waffle on some more...

Granted he was/is a talented player, only it seems when it suits him and also to be very frank - only when he is 'fed the ball'.
This is the boys dilemma - I believe he's behaving like a child who's been told toooo many times 'YOU DESERVE THIS' and now fails to stand up to being accountable.
*How can a player who's had almost 1/2 the AFL comp talk to him over that past 3 years not have an understanding of what was required at the elite level?
*This same player has had several x AFL mentors with him throughout last year - what the hell did they discuss, photo ops, new cars etc etc ..... obviously not what the AFL required of a footballer and the training regime.
*How can a player train with Essendon and not come away with an understanding of what was required at the elite level
* How can he state this as reported in the West "It has been tough to be away from my family and friends in a different environment and while I tried hard to stick to the disciplines of the club, it got a bit much for me in the end," Garlett said.
- - to have all the above and more prepare him for just that .....??????
The list goes on and on and on...... over the top considering the input and assists the average Indigenous and Caucasian Ozy kids get prior to Drafting day..

I do not apologise for saying this young man is a sook and a "wanna be without the effort". His decision today lays this out quite clearly ... sadly couldn't return to chat face to face...and this crap about WA drivers licence hahahah Good One.
I doubt another life line will be given ... hes had WAAAAAAAY sufficient already. Time to offer it to another young man who'll give it more than a token effort.

Good luck to the WAFL team if any pick him up - this package comes with a 'Handle with care - may cause damage' sticker plastered front and centre

Hopefully this will all drift into conversational smoke over the next weeks.
Please note;I do not wish this young man any ill and hope he travels life with good health and good fortune - just no more b/s in print please....stop walking the PC line
