If the game of AFL is ugly why do you follow the Wafl as far I can tell the game plans played by our Wafl clubs are exactly the same .

You have your opinion Pete and I have mine ..... always preferred the tradition down at Fremantle Oval , amongst others , the VFL has never interested me all that much tbh

Exactly PN both clubs on the weekend of the game I watched played there forwards super high and the backline of both teams pressed up when the ball was in there forward line.

It was like being at Subi watching the Worst Coast.

Obviously he is a talented kid, wanted to Play AFL, yes he had his off field issues as we all know, but last season he worked hard and was picked up. He thought he could handle the pressures of AFL. once at the Hawks he has obviously realised that it is not for him and he has left. I don't see anything wrong with it. Bit like you getting a job, thinking you will like it, stick with it for a couple of months, then up and leave because you are not happy. Leave the kid alone, would have been a hard decision to walk away, a lot harder than staying at Hawthorn unhappy. Hope he absolutely tears the WAFL apart.

Thanks Soprano for a thoughtful and considered ( and compassionate) comment, unlike some of the other ill informed judgemental drivel on this thread. Unless you know the kid personally, there is no way of knowing his circumstances and why he walked away. It is all assumption and stereotyping. Footy is not everything in life and some people are not cut out for it, no matter how talented, remember Ashley Sampi?

So you know the kid personally mike? If so, I retract my comment about "pulling himself up by his bootstraps". If you don't know him, then your opinion is as informed as mine.

Fair point Shark, no I don't know him but it just annoys me how people sometimes take the extreme negative or stereotypical view of a persons action without knowing the circumstances of the individual and that there may be another side to the story.
