Surely players are getting paid everywhere?? How does the WAAFL police it? Down in the SWFL there is massive money getting thrown around and no one really minds. You will still get players in the country if metro clubs could legally pay players as clubs would not be able to afford to buy all that is available. IMO WAFL may hurt as players could pick up cash, train less and still have a kick on a Saturday arvo locally.

Christ it looks very likely we have lost a gem of a player to footy - besides anything else I just hope the kid gets it together asap , hoping also that age matures him a fair bit too

Yolo you obviously don't know much about the league. Cervantes do dominate but I think you'll find it's more through smart recruiting and blokes wanting to play for a successful team. Brent Lecras is coaching this year but he is a local who has moved back to take over his old man's fishing boat and to give back to his team who gave him a start. The league implemented a points system to try and even the comp out and it has seemed to work except money is always going to be an issue with some teams. Garlett not lasting long is no big surprise as he only signed with Dandy because his cousin had but he left the league before the season started, and when you are calling blokes to the carpark after the game you obviously don't have the right head space.

So how many games did he actually play for them and what did they pay him in advance to do?
