Mikey agree its funny that they are all saying Marsh can bowl if needed but when you watch him run, he just looks sore.

What I have found even more interesting this week was before the series there was a lot of narrative from the bowlers around, we can play all 5 tests, we don't need to be rotated etc.....

Now there is chatter about the 3 day turn around between tests 2 and 3 and the 4 day turnaround between tests 4 and 5.The schedule hasn't changed for weeks, and we knew all along they are playing 4 tests in 4 weeks. now there are some nerves.

I guess the question is simply if they need to make changes for the third test who comes in, would be a funny look now if selectors go for an opener when they have overlooked one for nearly 12 months and there are no middle order batters knocking down the door with runs like we had years ago, when the likes of a number of batters could not get a game each year

you'd hesitate to post that Australia were in front after day 1 when Perth is in the memory bank
and India don't really play well in the D/N format anyway
the scoring rate of Australia is still pretty poor and early wickets will see them struggle again
it comes down to how many the batsmen can scrape together

Good win by Aust, knocked over the danger man in Pant early on, and the rest quickly followed. Looked like that India who lost to NZ recently at home, showed up for the Adelaide test, hopefully they hang around for a bit longer.

Complete turnaround from the 1st Test in regards to the result.
But digging deeper outside of Head's cameo and Labuschagne finding a bit of his old form the batting was still average at best.
It seems to be the way with Australia's batting for the last couple of years they rely on a cameo knock to do the heavy lifting, there is no consistency in the batting line up, and very few big partnerships in that time.
The bowlers looked better after looking like they needed the run in Perth (especially the second innings) although they always do with the pink ball in hand.
Lets face it if Australia are to win this series it will be off the bowlers yet again as outside the odd cameo this batting line up is very fragile!
I cant see India's batting line up performing this badly again in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney (when not raining)!

What a howler by Marsh to walk and not review. His decision to walk obviously prompted the umpire to put his finger up.

BH whilst I agree with Aust bowlers continually doing the heavy lifting to get Aust over the line.....you do know this is predominantly the same Indian batting line up that got rolled 3 zip by NZ just recently.... who now are getting their arses kicked by Eng.

Take out Jaiswal, who is the equivalent to Head and the odd cameo from Kohli, Gill and Pant here and there, India's top 6 are just as vulnerable as Aust top 6.

Interesting to see that Cummins sits 3rd on the table for bowling captains and 5 wicket hauls....Imran and Richie are top 2, with 14 and 9  5 wicket hauls respectively. Whilst Paddy may lack that captain's nous of both Richie and Imran, you cant fault his lead from the front  performances during his captaincy tenure

You have to give credit to Cummins. He is an outstanding leader no matter what people say about him and he has led by example in this test.
1 all now and the series is set up beautifully. India will bounce back in Brisbane as Australia did here.

Indians top order are balls deep with Bollywood stars and beauty pageant queens. No wonder they've lost their edge the last couple of years.
