Bumrah is a great bowler (although I wonder what the Don would think about his action as highlighted on that fox-ray thingo) no doubt Freeze but lets face it this Aussie batting line up is as weak as water and not in the same ball park that the likes of Marshall, Garner, Holding, Roberts, Croft, Ambrose, Walsh, Hadlee, Botham, Willis, Dev, Imran, Akram, Younis, Ahktar, Donald etc had to regularly bowl too from the 1970s through to the early 2000s.
If Mitch Marsh has any decency he would hand back his salary for this Test and most of the Series as he has been deplorable!

Honestly there is no pleasing some people, this has been a fantastic game of test cricket from day 1, possibly the best played in Australia for many years. The pendulum has swung just about every session and it is set up for a great finish tomorrow.

Yes there are weaknesses in both teams and Australias lower order got them out of the mire today but guess what? India' lower order did the same thing the previous day when they were 7 down for just over 200.
What Australia would give for a fit Cam Green right now. He is the 5th bowling option that Australia are sadly lacking and the declaration would certainly have been made earlier if they had him.

334 in 96 overs is a tall order but I think Australia are wary of Jaiswal and Pant who can score incredibly fast if they get going. With some doubt over Starc's fitness and Marsh being ineffective, Cummins will be wary about going too hard with his front line bowlers, there is only a 4 day break to the Sydney test. They may also turn to Head and Labuschange to give the front liners a break.

The Australians have a few decisions to make for Sydney but in the meantime sit back with the popcorn and enjoy the cricket tomorrow! I certainly will.

Is this Konstas kid a bit too cocky? Can't shut up fielding at silly mid off. Reckon it would be driving his team mates nuts more than the batsman.

Yes he's a confident lad but pales in comparison to Loosebuschange and Carey in the chat stakes, but he's learning from the best. Would like to see if he can build a big innings, grind out a ton off 150 to 200 balls. that would be just what we need in in Sydney given a draw will win the series, but may not need that given it will probably rain for a few days like normal.

Brilliant effort on the last day, Cummins captaincy was spot on, he performed wonderfully with both bat and ball and thoroughly deserved his man of the match award. He quickly went for the jugular after he rolled the 2 openers early. Long time since I've seen 9 fielders around the bat when Lyon and Head were bowling, both picking up crucial wickets and Bolland did what Bolland does.

1.2 bill Indians lost their minds after the snicko didn't show anything but it was a clear deflection and the TV umpire expert said there is a heirachy when assessing the DRS and snicko is below the vision. I think the 3rd ump is a Packy so I hope he's got a dozen bodyguards for his trip back to the hotel or he might be found dead in a Melbourne alley.

Only possible changes would be if Starc doesn't come up and if they drop Marsh. I think they will stick with Marsh given they won, maybe different story if they has lost. This should have been the 3rd win but India were saved by the normal shite Brisbane weather.

Obviously nice to be on the right side of the winning ledger....but what a fantastic test match that was....ebbed and flowed.....the skipper for all his political faults and boys club bias....stepped up again to lead from the front.....on to Sydney....another cracker in the making we hope.

5 days of the best cricket you would want to see. Credit to Cummins and the whole Australian team for sticking to their plans even though the Pant/Jaiswal partnership threatened to take India to a draw. Who said test cricket was dead?  Nearly 400000 disagreed. Great atmosphere at the MCG

Konstas is already living rent free in their heads if you look at some of the reactions of the Indian players during the game. He is a confident young man. He can't possibly be more annoying than Marnus.

I can see Konstas cocky style bringing him undone both with the bat and the pile on he will bring on himself with his cocky brash style. I bet the poms can't wait for him to visit the motherland if he lasts that long. The crowds there will be merciless.

Konstas probably got carried away playing in front of 400K plus live fans over 5 days DD, only 19 don't forget mate.....Great to  see his antics rattled a few of those Indian ego's ....is it sustainable?...naagh definitely not.....but definitely a memorable test debut.

Amazing how quiet the Paddy naysayers are after that 7/43 final session by the Aussies on Day 5 in Melbourne....no doubt one bitter pill for them to swallow.....quite surprised a few haven't  commented on how unjust that Jaiswal caught behind decision was....apparently cost India the match.
