Aust 1 for 71, playing dower sensible cricket, just 38 behind. If they can post high 100's or even 200 they might even pull this off.
Geez, a few changes and woke boy heading home has made all the difference. Would not want to be chasing more than a 100 in the last innings on this rediculous doctored wicket. Fingers crossed it will bite the Curry munchers on their arses.

Please gents look up the meaning of the word woke.
I am no fan of Cummins, for obvious reasons, but the word woke, does not apply to him.

Whatever the outcome of this game, the issue of pitch doctoring needs to be looked into. I'm sure everyone does it but none as blatantly as India. Pitches that produce too much assistance to the bowlers from day 1 are not true contests, similar to the flat tracks too much in favour of batsmen.

Surely theres a happy medium here where over a 5 day period the pitch gives everyone a chance to demonstrate their skills.

The recent NZ v England test seemed to be a track that was good for batting but gave bowlers a chance. In other words a great contest between bat and ball. That match will be remembered in history long after the series in India is forgotten.

Yeah it seems to be 5 out all out for Australia there. If India get more than 100 in front I reckon they'll be confident of rolling us again.
Carey has been so disappointing with the bat in this series. He seems to only have two shots, prod or sweep and neither is working for him. How much more opportunity is he going to be given before people start talking about Inglis?

FMD...I'm in Jakarta at the moment and went to a 3 hour meeting feeling pretty good about the state of the test match and come back to find this. What a disaster.

Cam Green got a rough call.  I'd love to see the stat on how many times Australia have got out on umpire's call compared to India.  It seems if there's any doubt about India being out then the umps will say not out and on review by Australia it's umpire's call.  If it's Oz, the finger invariably goes up and we got rolled on umpire's call.

What a performance by Lyon. Even though the day 2 pitch was behaving like a day 7 one, you still have to put the ball in the right places and he did exactly that. If it hadn't been for Pujara the Australians would be celebrating a 2 day victory right now.

Now surely they can score 76 to win can't they?????  Given their catastrophic batting collapses in this series (including that one today) I would not give up hope if I were India. They probably would have liked at least 100 to bowl at but if they can get early wickets they may engender some panic in the Australian dressing room. Remember just a few months ago Australia lost 4 wickets chasing down 30 odd against South Africa.

It appears that the best time to bat is in the first 10 overs when the pitch has been rolled and the ball is new so Australia should give Travis Head a licence to play the way he did in the last test and see if he can take a chunk out of the target early. If we are 0 or 1 for 40 after the first ten overs that would take the tension out of the game.

How bad have these umpires been? In 2 days there have been 15 reviews by the teams and 6 of them have been upheld. There have been a number of other decisions where the teams have not reviewed but have proven to be wrong calls.

One should not take the records of most cricket in India seriously, simply remind oneself of Mick Clarke's best bowling figures, figures obtained, naturally, on the sub-continent.
Exceptions for India DevGavaskarLaxman; England, Cook, Both, Swann; Aust, Border, Gilchrist, Martyn; WI; Richards, Marshall, Lara; Pakistan; Miandad, Imran; Cyelon, Sangakarra

All of the  above played well in India and throughout the world.
