again too many wickets lost and highly likely to be out on the first day
a second all-rounder would be a good move

So glad to see so many agreeing with me re Agar.
Tell them to shove the baggy green where the sun don't shine. At least he will be appreciated in the WA colours.

Totally agree anchor, they’re using him as a lamp post and really taking the piss.  Tell them to stick it up their arsenals…they’re never going to use him short of a total destruction of the team.

So Head makes less then Warner, and gets out to Shami, not one of spinners...fark Bailey et al can't take a trick...lol...more so with Shami taking 4 wickets to..

Good to see some fight at least, well played Uzzie, Handscombe and Cummins to a lesser degree. Not the 350 + Aust needed, but when you lose wickets in two's, i guess Aust will have to make do.

Early wickets is a must, keep India around a similar score and just maybe, just a maybe though, Aust might have half a chance.

Our score looked reasonable on that wicket. Not taking a wicket before stumps ,was a huge blow.
It looks like it's going to be hard work, in the field. If India take a 150 run lead into the second inning's.Its test over. We can't bat 125 overs on that wicket.
Looks like Delhi is having huge bushfires. The pollution is incredibly bad.
Latest reports are that David Warner won't take part ,after day1.Delayed concussion last night.
Selection is interesting.India gone in with two quicks and we have one.Without Greene to bowl and assist Pat the Rat.

Cummins is having a mare again over there.
Just burnt 2 reviews that were speculative at best, then doesnt review Pujara second ball with one that is salmon trout.
Maybe all of the smog in the Delhi air is really effecting the renowned climate crusader!

4 wickets in the first session is a great outcome for Australia. If they can follow up with another 3 or 4 in the 2nd session they will be well on their way to a first innings lead. One major obstacle will be Kohli who looks like he is in the mood to hang around for a long time, so it will take a good ball to dislodge him. If they can bowl out India for around 200, a 50 - 60 run lead would be priceless on that pitch.

Hopefully Warner is OK as far as his concussion is concerned but I think this is another message to the selectors that he is really not up to test cricket any more. He is really a sitting duck at the top order. Its actually quite sad to watch him struggling against a guy like Shami who he would have belted all over the park a few years ago.

I am happy to eat my words about Handscomb though. I thought his innings yesterday was an outstanding example of playing the correct way to the conditions. He occupied the crease through solid confident defense and punished the bad balls.

Mike, I have not been able to watch the second test. I am in Kalgoorlie /Boulder for a cricket reunion for Great Boulder.
I am prepared to eat humble pie re Handscomb as well.
4/96, Generally this is the time when games get away from Australia. Someone comes along and smashed us and another tag along to assist.
They need to take wickets in clumps and squash any challenge.

Dangerous partnership developing at the moment between Kohli and Jadeja, over 50 already. Must break it soon or they could take the game away from Australia.
From what I have seen of Kunemann so far, he hasnt really posed much of a threat to the Indian batsmen. Hes been tight but they seem to be able to handle him fairly comfortably. Which makes you wonder why they bothered to rush him over there when they already had a left arm spinner who could have done the job just as well.
As I write Murphy has just broken through with the wicket of Jadeja.

Ha ha, after bagging Kunemann, he has just snagged the wicket of Kohli. I'm eating my words a bit in this test!
Just got 3 more wickets now and hopefully a decent first innings lead to play with. India still have 2 good batsmen left in Ashwin and Axar so no time to be complacent
