58, interesting tweet by Martyn.....i guess Cummins or McDonald could tweet back #SAbrainfade1994.....  from memory, it cost Aust the game and 6 years of Martyn's test career.
Lol.
I doubt Ronald would want to be comparing his cricketing career with Martyn's any time soon Freeze....
It would be like comparing Rembrandt with Pro Hart!

I am also pretty sure Martyn was our best batsman in Australia's last Test Series win in India back in 2004 with some sublime innings that would make the current lot bar Smith embarrassed!

Mike, If Agar is not selected, he should ask to return to Australia to play in the shield comp. He is being screwed by the East Coasters.
I see the curators tried to stop photos of the pitch being taken.
move on, nothing to see here. Yeah riiiight.

BH, Martyn should be one of the last people sending a tweet teasing the mistakes of others....yeah not rocket science he was a better player then McDonald BH, My point being  mate, Martyn got hounded for playing that shot, a simple mistake , brain fade, hindsight is always the best sight, cost Martyn dearly and didn't deserve all the crap he got.

As if JL would of done anything different, if the guy can't coach an Aust team to victory over India at home, not sure he was going to do it in India....LOL

I dont disagree with your last sentence above Freeze but to be fair he was without Smith & Warner (a younger better model) our best 2 bats for his first 12 months as coach (remember the bowlers lead by Cummins apparently knew nothing of any ball tampering going on....apparently)    with one of those series the first vs India we lost, no excuse for the second though especially after rolling India for 36 in Adelaide.

On another note I see the Poms are playing the Kiwis in a day/night Test in NZ at the moment.
England are scoring at just under 6 an over at the moment......Bazball is not going away anytime soon!

Ill go the early crow.

The poms will win the ashes 4 nil and there will be one washed out game. I'm telling you by the end of the winter Cummins will have lost 8 tests as captain (3 in India, 4 to the Poms and the world test final) and it will be a different conversation regarding has captaincy methods and the team running itself.

They will also have to deal with Warner, Smith, Kawaja and Lyon retiring in the next 12 months as well as ongoing injury issues with Hazelwood and Starc and the test side will be in a world of hurt.

I love Australian cricket but right now the selectors don't seem to have a plan and the tail is wagging the dog - that's been highlighted by the treatment of guys like Agar and Zampa in recent weeks.

There is no one in shield ranks because everyone says they want to play test cricket but makes to much money in shield cricket. It could be a few tough years for Australia

Rather optimistic predictions above PH.
I reckon it will be 4-0 in India and 5-0 in England (rain permitting of course), that would mean a few Eastern States cricket reporters might be eating humble pie for a while......
I heard one of the said numpties say the other day that this Australian side was one of the best of all time believe it or not!
I could think of at least 3 better Australian ones in my lifetime alone let alone Bradmans Invincibles, the West Indies juggernaut of the late 70s to early 90s and the modern day Indian side!

PH, I wouldn't have thought that there was any money in Sheffied Shield.
The money is in the BBL, which is why so many of the test players stayed behind.

Did you see the poms declared v NZ on day 1 after only 59 overs - they scored 325 and have the Kiwi's 3 for not many - these tactics will un nerve the aussies.

Did anyone see the way Joe Root got out? A reverse scoop in a test match that got him caught at first slip. They have worked out how to play T20 cricket in a 5 day game. Watch the video

Don’t know if you saw this ph, but Boof Lehmann wasn’t very happy with CA or the selectors.
