First, I haven’t ever played cricket other than social stuff so am not a buff - just a mad cricket fan.  But it seems to me that the Poms have made some of our players look better than they are.  How would the current team go against India? Apologies, if I’m too critical on them.

as Beas' pointed out in another thread , Bangladesh have beaten NZ on their home deck and they are a pretty good team minus only their skipper Williamson from full strength - being still basically minnows it is a great win for them and the sport in general
obviously NZ will come out snarling in the next one and it should be an interesting series finale now

The Kookaburra just doesn't swing like the English Duke ball. Why Anderson has never got on top of the Aussie batsman down under.
The hand stitching of the Duke ball holds it's shape longer than the Kookaburra. But most test nation prefer the Kookaburra for faster, harder wickets.

Great knock by Uzzie, just comes in seamlessly and gracefully knocks out a test 100......hopefully Marcus Harris took notes......feel for Cam Green.....just looks like a walking wicket right now.....just needs to relax those shoulders and play  his natural game.....only 22, but a few games back for WA in the shield to get his mojo back......but no he will probably play some ODI stuff instead......

Shark58 - all of the English top order should have batted better. Having said that, on current form, only Root would make Australia's team.

I thought England were very gutsy after a horrible first hour or so when it looked as though they would fold for under 100 again - Stokes and Bairstow smashed Lyon and made him look ordinary and the fielding was surprisingly bad at times
Someone got the stumps wrong with that bail incident too , funny the umpires didn't check they were loose enough or bedding properly in the grooves before play
At least the game will go into the fifth day unless it rains again

Re the stumps issue apparently the 4th ump complained to the groundsman after day 2 that the stumps were loose, so the groundsman put mud in the holes to help hold the stumps.

That ball crashed into them and the stumps didn't move.......Best be buying lotto tickets if that happens

I was entirely wrong on Khawaja - he's pulled out a blinder of a game and it will be bloody hard to drop him after this one now
Harris could be in the gun sights
Good to see Green go for his shots in the second innings and it worked for the lad

Bangladesh roll NZ
India look average against South Africa
Scott Boland looks unplayable every ball

Cricket is a crazy game
