the Commission could also vote to liquidate the club -- the loan makes it a credior similar to the others. They can then issue a new club licence under the name of Joondalup Falcons playing in blue and red.

They could not do that unilaterally; they would need approval of the remaining WAFL clubs to approve a new WAFL club.

Swan 42: correct mate, but that would not be too difficult to achieve; we need to keep in mind that some people in the wa football community, especilally the commission and the media, go orgasmic about the need for a 'presence in Joondalup' -- some even dream of and AFL team.

For those who listen to radio redneck 6PR what have either Zempilas or Cometti said about this?

Trouble is there is not much to liquidate.....they don't own anything.

What makes you think they don't have assets? They
Would have something like 300,000 in receivables due , being WAFC distribution and alignment funds besides that the first duty of the Liquidator is to determine if there has been any wrong doing by the officers of the business , if they do they can recover debts from directors personally

Don't

So what is happening, seems to have gone very quiet both here and in the media.

Did here someone suggest that it could be an opportunity to 'phoenix' WP into Joondalup with the AFL footing some of the cost!

Its not impossible for them to do what Glasgow Rangers FC did, the original club feel into bankruptcy and closed down a few years ago, they are year or so later someone bought purchased the SPL licence for a token amount and re listed a new entity as a Pty Ltd and financed a new team, they started from the bottom league and had to work their way up each year, but did it in the end.

A new Joondalup Falcons wouldn't have to do that.

Cat amongst the pidgeons time, - Joondalup Eagles - reserves side - maintains presence in Northern suburbs, maintains a semblance of red and blue but loses a lot of history
