What should be a big issue for WA football is nothing short of who cares.
I know we have got ourselves in the shit and those who are to blame must be moved on but the club is bigger than these individuals.
For the money this club has generated through the turnstiles for over 100 years the WAFC or Government should simply write a one off cheque and clear the path for this club to get on with things.
This does not excuse the club, christ put your own people in there to run things for 3 years for all I care but it seriously gives me the shits how short a memory WA football has but also the WA football fans have. This club cannot be allowed to die, not because it's my club cause I would say that about my mortal enemy East Perth also. The media should be hounding the WA public to help West Perth out but dead silence.
Please help this club if you can Guys. West Perth cannot die.

What annoys me me about the situation is how quickly options are being ruled out.West perth are not going to align.West perth e are not going to change their name to Joondalup in hopefully getting more sponsorship. It will take drastic measures to pay back the debt.Considering the WAFC are stumping up money and don't want the falcons to fold I would think they would make them take up both options.

They are loaning the money not giving it to them. If it was a gift then I agree they can have some terms.
They should be gifting it to them for what the Cardies and all WAFL clubs have done for football in this state.

Even as a loan I would suspect you will be under the thumb of the wafc.

Good post and I totally agree. Disgraceful how the media caravan has moved on so quickly on this and then we've had the half wits in the media spitting out mindless thought bubbles on what could/should happen to the WAFL in light of WP's turmoil.

I hate WP as much as the next man but it would be a sad day for the WAFL if this club is allowed to collapse for the sake of what is in the big scheme of things - certainly in terms of the economic benefit of WP in the WAFL and the mountain of cash the AFL generates - a modest amount to keep a 100+ year tradition alive.

The media have dropped it until the creditors meeting and the receivers report.

There doesn't seem to be any sign at all of a massive fund raising campaign.

Its like no body cares

Does anyone remember whether WAFC gave Peel a big chunk of change to pull them out of the shit a few years ago or did they lend it to them? If it was a gift then I'd sooner WP be thrown a life line than the inbreds down at Centrelink Park.

First meeting of Creditors
Date: 3rd August 2018
Time: 10.30 am
Location: West Perth Football Club

The purpose of the meeting is to determine:
a. Whether to appoint a committee of inspection
b. if so, who are to be the committee's members

First creditor meetings are fairly brief, it's generally the following meetings that contain context regarding historical trading performance, assessment of debts, and creditor voting etc.

I hope I am wrong but expect the debt to increase substantially merely with the appointment of an Administrator.

The cost of such an appoitnment can vary of course, but the top guys charge $400 to $500 per hour.

That can suck out another hundred grand in a heart beat.

BC as far as I remember they gave them 400 grand? and they never gave it back, and the WAFC warned other clubs that they would never do that again, I might be wrong but that's the way it went down.
