Does Karrinyup no longer exist?

I remember I played for Jolimont which merged with Wembley (I think) and then became Churchlands Wembley. Drove past Selby oval not long ago and I think Wembley Junior FC is back as a stand alone club.

There was no Subiaco Junior Football club back in those days. Now i think the Subi Junior Football club that wears the old leaping lion jumper is part of the Claremont Zone. Perhaps we could get that one back

Yeah Karrinyup merged with Osborne Park and Takari and the three combined are now known as Stirling JFC.

I don't think we'll be getting Subiaco JFC mate.

Oddly, East Perth did offer to give up Mt Hawthotn JFC at the last boundary distribution in 2009. That would have meant that our zone and East Perth's would have touched Leederville Oval.

Strangely, the WAFC did not give Subiaco Mt Hawthorn - even when EP were prepared to hand it over.

Yeah true, Wembley and Wembley Downs both still going strong

Mate, did you play with the great Toddy Breman?

I often remind him that he played for the powerhouse that was Jolimont JFC for a while

RIP WA junior footy.

No wonder WA got beaten by Queensland in the state 15's the other day.

There's still time to fix it (I hope)

Although - EDIT - Queens park is still up and about isn't it?

I missed a few clubs from the Hills that all play under the moniker of Hills Rangers nowadays.
Byford JFC
Forrestdale JFC
Have those 2 clubs above been resurrected with the large population increase in those areas as they were around when I started in the 80s but were gone by the 90s!

I hope so LH but when I was playing against them in the 80s they had to fold in the early 90s and a lot of the boys came and played for my club that was reasonably close or at Kenwick.

Well, lets get all this righted now.

Otherwise you'll be following your boys playing for the Eastern Eagles 2 years from now.

It's not about league its about colts/juniors.

The league situation needs fixing, well lets fix that seperately

I have a question that has been at me for years Hinch - why didn't Subiaco cede their exclusive deal at Subiaco Oval (who's upkeep is funded by the WA taxpayers) when they made the submission for zonal increases?
Surely the club didn't think they'd get to keep everything and get extra zones at the general expense of everyone else on top?
This is where the general distrust is generated from mate & surely a compromise could have been amicably reached that benefited all clubs in that process not just one

I remember Todd was a year or two above me. His younger brother was in my team. Played cricket with Todd a couple of times at subi-floreat when I got the rare promotion from the lower grades.

I played juniors at Jolimont as did my bro's, started as an 8 yo back in '63, played right through till 17's, Jolimont were a very strong club often with a & b teams in each grade. We had a massive rivalry with Wembley, the clubs hated each other with a passion and finals were always tough affairs. Other teams at that time were Subi P & C, Scarborogh, Marist, Karrinyup. Kenny Ash was a Jolimont boy, dominated at junior level and was a handy league player, as well as the Joyce boys, big tough lads that lot.
