you are the first Subi supporter to acknowledge this and not just focus on numbers.

$ubi back in 2003 when they moved out of Subiaco Oval had the choice of moving up to Kingsway in their fast growing local Northern Suburbs zone and decided in their wisdom to move 2 minutes up the road to Leederville.
Was that the right long term decision in the end? ...although they have won 7 League flags and a number of Reserves flags in that time period since which is the same as Perth & 1 less than Swans have in a combined near 200 years existence!

Esperance- Subiaco
Collie- Peel
Eaton/Australind- Peel
Harvey/Brunswick/Leschenault- Peel
Belmont- Perth
Redcliffe- Perth
Cloverdale- Perth
Ellenbrook- East Perth
Beechboro- East Perth

We did volunteer to take on one of the former remote areas being the Pilbara which is a very labour intensive exercise in itself for a WAFL club on a strict budget but rewarding all the same.

If $ubi are serious about any change to the zones maybe they should apply to take the East Kimberley off Claremont who have some very big advantages already with the Golden Triangle in the metro area, Albany & the Great Southern, Ongerup & West Kimberley plus East Kimberley as it stands.

Mate our zones are so far out of whack & in some cases nonsensical - not asking for any extras here at all either
Hope several clubs don't have to suffer because of 1 club's requests & we have an even further contortion of zones

Yeah you are not wrong mate.
At Swans both our metro & country zones were adjusted markedly to appease 2 clubs who at times have fielded 80% of their League side with Eagles or Dockers players not from that zone ..go figure!

PERTH gets back Southern River(EF),Kelmscott,Roleystone,Armadale(SF).

We give Redcliffe back to Swans,if Swans give back Forrestfeld.

Sounds selfish, but don't worry,we've been Shafted in the past as well!

Would not surprise me if those clowns at the WAFC give away some of our prized
Zones,to a certain Beedy eyed club, west of us,but still South of the River!

Grassy it makes perfect sense for Redcliffe-P & Forrestfield-SD to stay in the status quo and never to swap over EVER AGAIN!

Grassy...Perth don't need anything mate, their colts are sitting top of the table and with State 16's/AFL Academy boys in Ian Hill and Sidney Stack to come through next year, Perth's colts will be strong again.....

I'd also like to see West Perth do a bit better at colts.

They do it tough as well.

Hopefully that area north of Joondalup keeps growing and provides them with plenty in future.

It should do although I fear the footy participation rates aren't matching the population growth up that way - with the heavy influx of Brits.

I dare not look at a google earth map of the soccer grounds v footy grounds up North.

I'd be interested to know how many WP colts boys have English parents. I do hear a few pommy accents up in the stand when I've been to WP colts games.

Its a tough gig for sure. Apart from Subi's zone, West Perth's is the zone I'd least like to have if it was my job putting together a colts squad of 45.

A few good young cricketers up that way though.

I guess back in the day soccer wasn't made so available to migrants as it is now.

But yeah, big problems for footy up North in my opinion.

When you look at a map and see where football isn't being played above primary school age its alarming.

Huge dead areas - the old market gardens (Tuart Hill, Stirling, Balcatta, Osborne Park, Gwelup etc). The KGB (Mirrabooka, Nollamara, Balga, Westminster etc). The areas east of that like Morley, Beechboro, Embleton etc.

I honestly wonder if footy will ever regain a foothold in those areas above year 7 level. Probably not in my lifetime.

But in summary.

An evening of the playing numbers in the zones. (an unfair league comp is no excuse for creating an unfair colts comp)

Compensatory recruits (Paid For) for clubs that finish 9th (2x10 points) and 8th (1 x10points) in the league.

Free trade from one WAFL club to another for any listed player aged 22 or more who hasn't played 6 league games in that year by season's end. (Unless injured for a minimum of 6 games)

Does Karrinyup no longer exist?

I remember I played for Jolimont which merged with Wembley (I think) and then became Churchlands Wembley. Drove past Selby oval not long ago and I think Wembley Junior FC is back as a stand alone club.

There was no Subiaco Junior Football club back in those days. Now i think the Subi Junior Football club that wears the old leaping lion jumper is part of the Claremont Zone. Perhaps we could get that one back
