Surely the club didn't think they'd get to keep everything and get extra zones at the general expense of everyone else on top?
This is where the general distrust is generated from mate & surely a compromise could have been amicably reached that benefited all clubs in that process not just one

I guess its a bit like being a board member at a big company.

If you're seen to do anything but to give the biggest dividend to the stakeholder, you'll be considered incompetent.

Subi people, me included, have a "lets make up for those awful years" where we were poor, unsuccessful and considered a basket case. We've nearly made up for it I reckon? God knows they were some awful years when I was a kid.

Apparently it was just as bad in years before. Imagine Bernie Naylor kicking 23 goals against Subi on his own in one game.

That aside, I'm over all that. I just want to see an even colts comp that will satisfy all parties - including the academy people and the AFL scouts.

There are calls for massive colts changes but we can nip that in the bud with an even comp

As it stands, the stadium deal ends. Will Subi, with over 100 years of history and participation, even survive from this year on?

Worrying times. But I wish people would support me on this if they have the colts comp at heart

And as for the host club thing. We're not going to change that in my lifetime.

One of the saddest things that has happened in football is that instead of striving to have 20 great players in a side, it is now about 20 players who play to a structure, a game plan and respond to the coach. Talent is secondary.

Game plan...this wonderful mysterious game plan that Fremantle and West Coast have

There's still time to fix it (I hope)

Although - EDIT - Queens park is still up and about isn't it?

They played in EP jumpers when I played against them before disappearing around 1990. Good to hear they have been resurrected.

Have those 2 clubs above been resurrected with the large population increase in those areas as they were around when I started in the 80s but were gone by the 90s!

BH isnt SF Shai Bolton from Forrestdale FC....think there are a few other SF colts from Forrestdale FC.....well that is where the footy budget lists them.

East Perth Highgate gee I remember playing a year or two with them in the late 70's early 80's...think Ischenko played for them as a junior....wore the black n blue....we used to get hammered most weekends.....great oval we played at though.

..Police Boys FC folded up?....surely not Morley Police Boys LH?....they played on cnr of Coode St and Walter Rd....only team wearing Footscray colours to be unbeatable.....sad to see some of those clubs go.....the EP zone was a strong one back then.....

I would seriouslly consider moving the colts out to Kingsway, but under no circumstances should the club be moved out to the place. It was bad enough being booted out of Subiaco, becoming Carine or Wanneroo would have been a step too far for me.

LH and others -- How many league footballers have come out of Balga/Westminster? Even back in the 80s, I can only think of Laidley.

2009 I know but still makes interesting reading as to what the wish list for the clubs are.

Bit rich $ubi going cap in hand for more territory, at one time and another they have sat on the largest junior clubs in the world in Whitfords and Kingsley plus got a very productive area from East Freo in the Midlands.

Perth and Claremonts Colts coaching positions have always been made up of the best of the best, maybe $ubi should follow suit.

I did ask the question about Forrestdale Freeze as they were around in the 80s but gone by the early 90s like Queens Park in the Perth/South Suburban JFL good to see they have come back hopefully Byford will do the same.
I was talking to Bolton's Grandfather at the WA vs Allies 18s game he said he lives in Mandurah and is the son of Darren.
