Reading between the lines. Sounds like the 'so called' commission has found it all too difficult, and given West Perth an ultimatum. Apparently the West Perth board to meet on Wednesday for a decision?

The club is in full support of Channel Nine and have thrown the issue right back onto WAFC lap. They are the ones who created this mess.

For the first time there has been admission that West Perth have a legal fair agreement - that has come from McEaglehenry himself

West Perth 1 - WAFC 0

West Perth 1 - WAFC 0

Latest from the West today Saturday 29 Aug..

From the game today I understand where the WPFC has been thrown an ultimatum from the Governing body being the WAFC ... Better known as the WANKERS.
The WPFC will advise the WAFC to do their job and accept responsibility for the fiasco and they are to make the decision.
It is obvious the WAFC does not want to make a decision and will not RESPOND to media interviews. ABC and 91.3 are 2 I have heard this is the case. I suggest the same applies to 6PR...

Now the way I see it is The WAFC determined that Channel 7 would do the broadcast and did NOT follow the proper procedures. I am sure it it came to a court case which we dont want this would be the findings..

2nd point is the WAFC are paying Channel 7 1 million dollars to televise the WAFL.
Channel 7 is not paying the WAFC to show the games.
So having said that it is obvious that the WAFC has employed Channel 7 to telecast WAFL GAMES not vice versa. This means the WAFC is the dominent partner and the customer of CHN 7... SO WHY DOES CHANNEL 7 HAVE THE RIGHT TO DICTATE TO THE CUSTOMER WHO ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE.
The WAFC have contracted Channel 7 at a cost to them for 7 to broadcast these games.

The Contract between CHN 9 and WPFC was signed 12 months before the "contract" between 7 and the WAFC. So CHN 7 were fully aware that a WAFL CLUB had a contract with another media company before signing the agreement.
Either that or the WAFC did not advise channel 7 of the WPFC and 9 sponsership.

I think McHenry and his board are running scared and trying various scare tactics to make WPFC bend to their demands.

Next week should be very very interesting.

I seriously think the WAFC is stalling as well and hoping WP do not get into the Prelim or the GF and the problem will go away... Easy solution. Blind Freddy could see that.

Had a read of the article earlier, and where it says“Something has to give. We have put a position to West Perth and we are waiting for their response. The ball is in West Perth and Channel 9’s court.”

Of course something has to give. This ridiculous debacle has been on-going too long. It sounds like these 'tense' negotiations have resolved very little? On Wednesday West Perth will be responding to whatever position has been put toward them. Hopefully at seasons end, the telecaster get's the flick and certain peoples heads start rolling!

The Ticket thief Sautner , who was the orchestrator of the telecast deal with old Vicco mate Eddie the McMegalomaniac , slid out the door earlier this year to take up another big buck charade with the sponsor of the WAFL Colts comp

You hit the nail on the head WAG. The only problem is who watches the watchers to coin a phrase. The WA government could step in but half of them wouldnt know what a football looks like and I really think they are staying away from the whole issue... TO HARD BASKET.

The ABC did every game on as Saturday at 0215.. Half time about WAFL. Went to the country games and did all state games and did it as a Community Service.
7 wont get the flick because it is a 3 year contract. Their is more to it than meets the eye when it comes to 7. The Perth Stadium has a lot to do with it.
Channel 7 manager is on the board (D'Orazio 7 managing director) along with McHenry (WAFC)
7 West media CEO Chris Warton who stated during negotiations with 9 they wanted the same rules applied to Channel 7!!!!

I find it interesting that CHANNEL 9 now claims they were frozen out of negotiations.

To quote

Late last year Mr Mott said Nine had been “frozen” out telecast rights by the WAFC anyway.

He told The Sunday Times the station’s “numerous” requests to meet with Mr Walton to pitch for the rights had been “rejected”.

The sponsors pay McGuire Media and they pay Channel Seven.
