freezin: I had the same frustration during the Ashes watching all the MCC left-handed batsmen flirt away outside the off-stump against Lyon

Nice shot by Paine.....the sooner Carey dons the gloves the better....nice n steady is our Timothy but Carey is a mini Gilchrist who just needs an opportunity to grow....at 33 Paine is not gonna get any better....

Would not have hurt for Marsh to bat out the last 3 balls before lunch rather than take a single and get himself off strike.

Great knock Mitch deserved a ton, after being 5 for 177 to get to 351 was a good effort which means the Aussies are well in the game

Couple of good over's by Stark.Looks like a reasonable total.SA like to grind there opposition into the ground. They will try and bat for 150 over's and score around 450.

A bit of M Marsh’s batting reminded me of ABDV. Pity he couldn’t wait out the last 4 runs though.

Considering in the India v SA series only one innings over 300 out of 12 innings, great to see Aust lead off with that score of 350 odd.... obviously disappointing for Marsh to fall 4 runs short of a 100 but great to see him delivering on his undoubted potential....best thing Langer has done coaching wise in the long format was installing Marsh as captain....the added responsibility has resulted in Marsh's ability to bat for long periods.....great bowling at the end by Aust Mr Clean up man Starc.....
