Would love to see the Indians get hammered in SA.....think the last 18 months of play sub continent cricket has inflated their self worth on the test arena......think the Aussies will be in a better place to match the SA boys IF our fast boys stay fit......with de Villiers back tho SA batting does look better.....though the likes of Shami et al had no probs knocking the SA batsmen off for sub 300 totals.....even though SA were batting in their own back yard....one can only hope the likes of Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins can do the same or better!

If the Ashes series was career turner for Mitch Marsh....this SA series could be a career definer for the guy....consolidate his batting with some more runs plus get his bowling up a notch with a few wickets and hey presto Aust have an allrounder......saying that though would rather Mitch score runs at 6 than take wickets....as seen in the Perth test he can score runs quickly when on song.....181 in less than a days batting is bloody good going!.......

Any chance Ashton Turner may get a ODI gig for the injured Lynn?.....can't see how Maxy can get back in so soon after Smith gave his training exploits short shrift......would love to see either Short or Turner get a gig TBH

Short's century tonight plus his economical spin bowling in front of Mark Waugh would have boosted his prospects Freezin. I think it would be more useful to have a look at him or Ashton Turner in a ODI rather than going back to Maxwell at this stage. They are looking at potential new players for the world cup and they pretty well know what Maxy brings to the table.

I would have thought that if you wantted to stabalise the middle order batting you would have picked S Marsh or Ferguson?

Nannes is the worst "special comments" man I have heard in my lifetime of following sport and on a par with hacks the likes of Ralph, Hagdorn & Robinson for credibility!
It was a totally abysmal decision by the ABC to put him on the radio for the Ashes Tests when he has barely even played a first class game just another parochial loudmouth Pricktorian who will be all for picking a has been like White over potential long term young prospects like Short, Turner etc because White is from Vic!

We may have won the big prize of the Ashes this summer but the Poms have fought back somewhat to have us 3-0 down in the ODI (yeah i know care factor-zilch) and now they are doing a number on our NSW in the Under 19 World Cup....interesting to see no West Aussies selected in the squad and no Waugh or Ralston selected for a cut throat elimination Qtr Final vs the old enemy?!
