Quite surprised Tye has got a 50 over gig....is he good enough to bowl 10 overs? Great see Jhye Richardson in though.....Maxwell has had loads of opportunities for sporadic results....Finch?....not too sure about Fatty Finch these days.....surely Maxie Klinger deserves a go....but then again a lot on his plate at present....

Southerner, I agree, Chris Lynn has a decent technique. He just needs to have time in the middle and to be able to play without getting injured.

Imagine him and Warner opening the batting in England for the 2019 world cup, If they both last a few overs they will be good to watch

I think the selectors are using this series to have a look at a few players (Richardson,Lynn, Tye) so Maxwell shouldn't be too despondent, he will certainly get more opportunities. Looks like Wade's international career is over though.

As far as the test is concerned, I am quite surprised to see Starc risked in a dead rubber. I really hope he gets through it unscathed because he is going to be crucial on the tour of South Africa.

Hmm. A duck for Bancroft. He really does need some runs in the 2nd innings or the selectors may look at other options for South Africa. Time for Khawaja to show what he's made of.

How bad and costly were the two dropped catches by Cummins firstly then Hazelwood a couple of balls later off Cummins. I used to eat those when I was in primary school.

I think Smith and Lehmann would be stressing the importance of batting big in the first innings. If they can covert the 2 - 193 into around 500, they can then put the English batsmen under the pump on day 4 on a pitch that will be starting to wear. Day 3 will be a good day to bat as it is going to be stinking hot but they don't want to fall into the same complacency that they showed in the first innings in Melbourne. Usman now has a golden opportunity to score a daddy century and nail down that number 3 spot for the foreseeable future.

Can't see Bancroft getting another bat if Australia go big tomorrow.....poor fella, but he has had plenty of opportunities on some more than decent batting pitches....can see the likes of aphilsnder and Rabada pushing more holes through his not so water tight defence...whilst Morkel gives him some chin music.....the guy is talented just unfortunately his run getting has disappeared after the first test....good to see Uzzie going well, reckon he will score well in SA....but hey he will always be frustrating to watch...... obviously with Aust picking their squad before the shield starts again not too sure who will go as Warner's opening parter then...... pretty silly the way the Aust season is organized......

Do they go back to Shaun Marsh as an opener!!! I would think that highly unlikely and unfair.
A dilemma for the selectors.I think they will take him to SA any way.

Who would of thunk it SMarsh just shy of 4oo runs for the series averaging over 80 and out scored the English captain, and MM averaging 146 at the minute , where's Leatherstops when he's not vilifying the Marshmellows on FB.

Pricktorian deadbeats like Jon Ralph & Dirk Nannes have been awfully quiet with the Marsh brothers continual good form in the last few weeks ....must be far too busy choking on their humble pie!
