I worked in the CBD for 17 years up until 6 months ago and I can tell you when the temp got above 37 odd degrees there was no work on the Brookfield sites which I was right next to and a part of. There my have been the odd contractor but not a lot else.

Went to the December CFMEU meeting. They are on there knees with the WA downturn. Only have 3 builders in a EBA agreement. And only one black book agreement with Westfield.Tier 2 agreement with Brookfield+Probuild..

I watched Australia's next big examination South Africa bowl out that insidious Indian mob last night - forget about bad behaviour from either of the Ashes combatants it pales into minute insignifcance when compared to the Indian team
Virus Kohli needs to be suspended for a lengthy period to instil some form of respect for the game & his opponents some of his antics are incredible especially during & after reviews
I was cheering every single wicket the SA boys took it was priceless viewing in that Indian shed , you could almost see the tears streaming down their sorry arsed faces
Well played South Africa full marks on a gutsy display - the world can only hope that India even bother to study the result & the spirit of the game stuff

A+ (outstanding) - Steve Smith
A (above average) - Mitch and Shaun Marsh, Paine, Starc, Cummins, Lyon, Hazlewood, Anderson, Malan.
B (average) - Warner, Khwaja, Root, Bairstow, Overton.
C (below average) - Bancroft, Bird, Handscomb, Stoneman, Vince, Ali, Woakes, Broad, Ball, Crane, Curran.
Too many England players in category C for them to be competitive. They have unearthed a good one in Malan though.

Oops, missed Cook in my ratings. He would be a B, only because of his epic innings in Melbourne. Think I was a bit harsh on Warner too, Given that he scored a century and several half centuries, he would be worth an A.
Like Southerner I had a look at the last day of the test in Cape Town and it was gripping cricket between the world number 1 and 2. It will be a whole different ball game for the Aussies when they go there in March.

Considering India haven't played outside the sub continent for a good 18 months, no surprises the SA fast boys rolled them easily.....reckon Aust will be worthy opponents for the SA boys.....interesting to see Steyn has injured himself again.....could be in doubt for the Aus series. Reckon Aust bowling attack will be just as competitive as SA fast boys.....pity Pattinson is out though.....the batting will be the key.....need Marsh x 2 to go well again and considering Philander is just as good as Anderson at swinging the ball, will be a big test for the likes of Bancroft if selected.....find it amazing there are no shield games prior to the SA touring squad selection.......can't see Bancroft getting dropped for Renshaw or anyone TBH.....

Hopefully the poms come over to NZ and give the Black Caps a good reality check.....lot of talk after their WI wins and now Pakistan they have a side worthy to be number 1 on the test scene.....FMD the WI are not even good enough to beat Ireland et al

FMD Freeze do those clowns across the dutch not learn from when we sent one of our most ordinary sides over there a year or 2 back and still gave them a hiding on their own putch!
They are a lot better at the ODI & T20 formats but we all know who was their master in the jointly held last World Cup!

What a cracking day of cricket viewing yesterday was Southy.
Starting with the Aussies wrapping up the Poms to win the Ashes 4-0 then 2 brilliant BBL games that went down to the last ball with the Hurricanes & Scorchers getting the chocies and then switched over to watch the Saffas knock over the petulant Indians at picturesque Cape Town due to some superb swing bowling by Philander to go 1-0 up in their series in SA...just seeing the look on Kohli's face was worth it alone...you have got to love the Summer holidays!
On another note one must wonder what Swan42 thinks of some of the behaviour of the Indian Cricket team lead by that petulant spoilt brat Virat Kohli considering his stance on the Australian side who look like angelic choir boys in comparison to them and also Kygrios & Tomic?!

Kohli has a massive inferiority complex, a complex, which, of course, often manifests as the opposite.

I'm not sure he has an inferiority complex AR...I think it actually is the opposite...he's the captain of India which is the most powerful cricketing nation in the world and I reckon he thinks he's bullet proof.

Having just watch South Africa demolish India for 135 to wrap up the first test in Sth Africa. Superb bowling by Philander with 6 for 42 on a helpful wicket shows that Australia will face a challenge when they tour in February.

BC -- The Indians do a lot of thinking, that is their problem. They have a deep resentment of Ashes cricket itself. I won't say anymore because I will get myself into trouble with the PC brigade.

Anch: Foxtel will be showing the tour of Africa.
