freezin: so true about Langer. Mitchell Marsh can't play, something which should be obvious from his career figures -- and figures this season two ducks out of three I believe? Anyway, if you want to ignore his figures, there is another way to demonstrate his problems with the bat: he gets bowlled far too often for a top line batsman.

I wonder how many times langer was bowlled for WA?

Well picked up AR you are dead right it is remarkable how often MM has his timber disturbed for a so called Top 6 batsman.
I cant see him ever playing Test cricket again unless he improves his bowling enough to be considered a genuine bowling all rounder coming in at 7 or 8.
Quite like the look of young Hinchcliffe as a future batsman for WA.

So now Ferguson sticks his hand up....FMD...one up one down, reckon this 3 match cat fight for 6th spot has really just showed no one has a clue who will snaffle it....Renshaw looks in worrying form...good to see him lasting 100 deliveries just concerning for little scoreboard output....if Patterson scores a 100 tomorrow then I guess he is higher up the selectors radar.........don't think anyone has scored runs in both games so far...Lehman with nearly back to back tons is a late dark horse...hopefully Starc can replicate Mitch Johnsons last Ashes feat v the Poms.

Another duck to Hilton Cartwright today so he has got the job ahead of him now especially with rival Maxwell making a 60 today and also Ferguson and Lehmann piling on the runs. In contrast Bancroft has followed up his first innings 70 with an 80 against the test attack and I reckon he has put himself in the pole position should they replace Renshaw. Unfortunately he couldn't convert either score into a ton which would make the selectors sit up and take note. Shaun Marsh kept his hat in the ring with 91, once again pity he couldn't got the extra 9 runs.
Warriors have lost 4 for 17 after a 179 run opening partnership, once more exposing their flimsy middle order. There is only about an hour and a half left in the game but the problem if they lose another wicket or two is that Starc is absolutely lethal bowling to the tail as he showed yesterday.

Even if you take into account the quality of the opposition that is a massive fail. This is why it was such a bewildering decision to allow Klinger to go to the Bangladesh T 20 competition as he has a better technique than all the guys who batted 3 to 7 this weekend. I reckon they will be found wanting again by Mennie, Worrell and Co in the next game. Mitch Marsh's batting is not up to Sheffield Shield standard and he would be struggling to hold his spot if he wasn't captain.

mikeh: a very good post. Those at the WACA will question Langer no matter what happens.

Ark, they should be asking him that question, but I think the powers that be supported that decision.

See Stark got another hat trick

2 hat tricks in the 1 game by Starc cleaning up our tail in both innings.
Hasnt happened very often in 1st class cricket let alone by an Australian bowler!
