He was in the side as a genuine all rounder though

If you are talking about the Marsh boys I think you will find I have always said Mitch is not a Test batsman certainly not in the top 6 and as for Shaun didnt he score a century in his 1st Test Innings vs SL in SL?
I reckon Maddinson would need about 40 Tests just to even reach SOS's 1st Test Innings in total judging on his piss poor output last summer!

BH at least Sean helped win a test in Adelaide and save a test in India, only someone with a baggy Blue could play 27 test matches with out a ton and still keep his spot.

As for poor old Mitch he still has a better batting average than Usman in the sub continent, just bad luck he isn't a good flat track bully.

Well Shaun has only played 23 tests and has three test tons, I guess he has 4 more to go to reach Steves Waughs starting point , maybe we'll see what Shaun has after he completes his 27th test.

amazing to think Sean's father Geoff made 4 tons in 50 tests.....as predominantly an opening bat...50 tests for 4 100's....though the WI were stronger back in those days....if Sean Marsh can deliver on his undoubted talent consistently, than more then happy to eat humble pie...ditto for Mitch....so frustrating those two....also sad to see NCN down with injury....might relieve WA backlog of bowlers a tad....

Are u saying think NSW.... because NSW players are better LS?....well we know that LS....10/44 the other day confirmed that...LOL....totally agree NSW players get an easier passage into the test team...tell me which WA players are better than Smith, Warner, Starc and Hazlewood at present...all four of them got an easy right of way into the team and history shows they are all good enough and deserve to be there....

Gutted to hear that NCN has broken down with a back injury again. Just as he was coming into serious calculation. You would have to wonder now if he will ever get an extended period of cricket without these sorts of problems

They only perseverred with SR Waugh because they had a crap side. Even when he broke his duck in terms of centuries in 1989, the only bowller he faced whom averagged under 32.00 in test cricket was Dilley. This also explains why Taylor made 800 runs and Geoff Marsh made a century.
