Looks like it's going to be a ripper day at Steel Blue on Saturday,early forecast is for 26* so should be a healthy crowd. I for one can't wait to see some competitive footy and a new raft of youngsters complementing the older heads. I reckon Jake Nuich is in line to lead the ruck with Blakely out. There is sure to be 1 or 2 others thrown in.
Our pre season form over the last 2 weeks has been very encouraging and I'd be surprised if we didn't kick off the season with a win.

Id love to see Jake Nuich get a game. He is a big lad this year and will hopefully give some depth when Blakley gets back from the injury.
I can see Jackson Slater getting a game and effectively taking Boekys spot on the wing.
Joel Houghton is a certainty to line up next to Cary up forward.
Rudy Riddock, Alby Dean and Steven Wityk may get a run.
There is going to be 5 or 6 unlucky boys playing ressies this week.

Out of the 3 I'd say one the Daniels boys may get a gig. I don't think Aiden Anderson will be playing league for a few weeks yet.

I saw Rob Mostert twice last year and he knows where to get to around the sticks and usually nails them afterwards
Ansey was another that (to me) was destined to play senior footy sooner rather than later

I haven't seen any of the practice games but Swans big weakness would appear to be the lack of tall options in the absence of Blakely. Is Dylan Harvey still around and would he be the first choice ruckman?

Lindsay Murray could be a smokey. Did play league in the Peel scratchy,not sure about last week.

Dylan Harvey was at the Peel scratchy(not playing)but looked to have some issue with a leg. Pretty sure Nuich has him covered anyway. Nuich will play like a 5th mid,if picked. It's not like Blakely is a towering ruckman that the lads are used to dominating. Don't get me wrong,he was superb last year but i think we can cover for him until he returns.
