The most pleasing thing about today was that at 3/4 time Harding asked for a solid finish and we did exactly that scoring 7 goals into the breeze. Looked like the boys were having plenty of fun.

Swans were great, but there were times today when I really wondered how much opposition they had out there. Perth were awful really, even taking into account the fact they had a very young team. They were unable to put us under any pressure at all and guys like Elari, Riggers,and Faulkner ran around and did pretty much as they liked all day. Spalding has got a big job on his hands.

Pleasing for Swans that every player on the field got 10 possessions or more, Broad of the bright green boots played very confidently and seems to be destined for a permanent spot. I was impressed also with the new boys, young Slater caught my eye. Rudy seems to have lost a bit of weight and that run down the outer wing was just about the highlight of the match ( pity it was only a point). Overall a good way to start the season but I wouldn't be getting too excited just yet Swannies fans, lets see how we go against the Eagles ressies......

Agree Mikeh - highlights of the day was Slater getting it on the back 50 and 3 bounces later bombing a goal from 50 in the 3rd qtr and Riddochs similar run that could have been the same result.
Also, Elari and Rogers dominating against their own side and Riggio back to 2013 and prior form. Nuich and Houghton good also.
If EP are letting guys like Slater go its no wonder the host club is a joke and they got pumped tonight. Thanks EP...Good luck with Hill, Karpany, Main, Barrass and the like

A great day at Bassendean and if people want a quintessential day out at the WAFL look no further than watching a game at Basso, it is clear we do it better than the rest with atmosphere, catering, a big crowd (hardly saw a Perth fan all day so imagine if they came along it would have been 5k), toilet facilities etc etc..A reliable informant told me the game at Leederville resembled a morgue, EP v EF was underwhelming. Friday night at Fremantle was a reasonable experience but nothing compared to today! Carn the Ducks!!
