The advertised line up for West Perth looking pretty good on paper.

I have to agree with much of your assessment of the EP squad

The Eagles have done no favors for the EP club and that conversation has been stated, chatted, wined on, smashed and swizzled many times here and otherwise.

Our reserves are still finding their way I am afraid, as they were last year, so that game may swing either way - the exception being our reserves are playing for league spots - yours not so much.
Im also wondering how many Royals supporters will make their way to joondy - the rivalry has lost some of its bite in the last couple of years but I still hope for a good base to be at the ground banging away at our boys and giving back what they get from our garlic squad haha

all we have to do is transfer the strength of the 'paper team' to the grassy green of our stadium ... Not to just look good running out but coming back in as well

I have to agree. If WP can't beat us then they will not make the five.We have weaknesses all over the ground. Our ruck is weaker without Paul Johnson.Tom lamb and Mcinnes are still a liability as key forwards plus our miidfield is not going to worry too many teams.

I would agree that the loss of Johnson and Wolf are not dissimilar to the loss of long standing WP Captain J Salecic and the time it takes to get back from that. Current Captain Van Berlo is a good player with great character but still to me lacks the on ground strength and leadership to turn a game around ( as J could)and rally the players - time will tell and while i accept change (thankfully) a definite difference has crept into the WP team since we won that GF in 13'
I agree that EP'ths 'Lamb' is not an asset but instead can became a liability for the EP team . I remember a game against EP where Marcus Adams took a mark above him in the back line and Lamb jumped up and down waving his arms about slapping Adams like a 3 Yr old girl that had just found out she was destined to play in the Dockers female AFL team when she grew up.
It was a ridiculous tantrum that I often see play out in his footy.
I also think you have a liability in the returned Oakley Nichols; I thought he'd retired? he seems out of form?, certainly not the player he was 5 years ago and sooooo easy to niggle/verbally dig and his game goes to shit soon after.. Mcinnes is like out Lourey (off & on ... off more than on)

Do you have any reserves that have been given an opp this week or have all the spots to fill been given to the eagles newbies?

Can't agree about jon.He had a bad game but no worse then Lamb who gets his kicks in the backline or Mcinnes. He got injured for the most of last year but he was a better forward then Lamb and Mcinnes.Lamb kicked only 17 goals from 20 game and Mcinnes only 7 goals from 14 games and jon kicked 16goals from 9 games.Wiish people would get off his case. The problems in East Perth's forward line is that the Eagles decided to keep two players who are not up to Afl standard and both should really be playing reserve.Unfortunatley Asher Samalko is injured as he deserves a chance.
