The West Perth game being on Sunday. The weather conditions looking good with cloudy conditions and intermittent showers, with a temperature of about 24ยบ. One would need to be favouring West Perth to win. Their opponents simply went through the motions in a silly dance in week 1.

agree WAG...I've tipped WP...I thought the WART v FART game last week was pretty ordinary and an exercise in AFL listed players practising defensive structures with their respective AFL coaches watching on.

EP seem to have a lot of good players ready to come in to replace any AFL players lost.

Payne. Anderson, Ameduri, Hart, Brophy, Hodgson, Di Placido, Lague and that new kid Bolton has a bit of x-factor apparently. Might have played colts for Perth some time ago.

And maybe WP draftee Rotham, now at EP, might play against his old club?

That being said, it looks like EP will go in with around about 14 AFL listed players...judgeing by their AFL side announced today

EDIT - Only a guess but Barrass and Schofield might drop back to EP and Hutchings will travel?

East Perth still suffers badly with the alignment in my opinion - two very different reasons for running onto the ground will always be a difficult pig to wrestle - oiled up or just muddy :)
Mind you, if you make the entire team almost an AFL list then it seems they can perform amazing results...

Our Ruck will be interesting with Sev (at times heavy handed) and Chris k (underdone) both listed to play. T Keitel has put on some beef but he needs to show improved courage for mine as he will too often pull out of contests and this is never ok - talented but we'll see.
The mids with Black & Nelly will do their job as they can be depended on doing and Blackie has put his head over the ball and upped his tackle count noticeably last season so his extra grunt may hold surprises.
Swinging Manning (beefed-up - faster & injury free)and Boots (courage on a stick) through the middle as well as Back n Forward will brighten the mix and will be possibly THE game changer each and every week.
Gaudy (still week to week) will give as always his considerable talent to the center bite and movement, his experience was missed last year.
Lourey simply needs to improve and kick goals - if not his signing has been a failure (harsh but i feel honest). Roddha will be the big dependable player hes always been just has to remain consistent. Strijky will always be our most dependable player and reliable goal kicker to be honest - but if hes needed in the backline some of our forward movement can/could suffer -
Scott Simpson will create a new option that will either be a Lourey (hit n miss) or a solid magnet for ball direction .. time will tell and his first game against our EP rivals will be more than interesting, no time for fumble nerves.

Then generally we have more than several x reserves,2nd yr players that have no other option other than to stand up and give their all week to week, and that's all that can be asked or expected.
The senior players must be accountable this year for this and not just lower their heads with the rest when the team falters- get to them and motivate when needed, smack back of heads if required (no PC on a footy field).
WP need to show the heart and consistency in hard footy ability as shown from 2012 to 2015.

As for off the field - WP supporters have been obvious by their lack of attendance in mu observation and I don't have an answer to be honest - seems after the 2013 GF win the desire to attend has fallen away .. sad really very very sad :( and the constructions works are'nt likley to help
Then there are the umpires and all we want there is consistancy even when its bad just be consistant.
BUT
Where there's a WAFL game playing honest footy, there's hope

Given the failure of EP to show solidarity of teamwork and the yet unknowns of my WP'ths new team framework, structure and game plan what's the thoughts about the days outcome?.

Barista,

I don't know what to make of the season ahead, it has been the lowest key I have experienced being a Falcon for 37 years. We have not recruited massively which is fine as we are one of few clubs that promote from within on a consistent basis. Monaghan has mooted there will be more diversity in our game regarding swinging players around to unsettle the opposition, that will be interesting in itself.

All that said, going on what I saw last Saturday night we should win by 23 points !!!

Please

We constantly recruit and shun our own players. Gauling to see one of our brightest junior talls named a best player at another WAFL club because he was told he wasn't wanted at West Perth. Will be even hardly to fathom when we have a Victorian recruit will be playing in his position on Sunday.

JD,

Let it go mate, we are all aware that Dillon was let go a number of years ago and played a ripper game for $ubi last week. If the Victorian recruit you speak of is Keunen you are way off the mark as he has been a star for over 10 years !!!

yep...nice work LH...it just goes to show all clubs recruit from outside their zone despite what some delusional supporters suggest and hence the points cap.

LA,

You don't want me to go through your Dags side as well mate for imports! Jahcky is not with us, Riddoch, Colbung, Garlett, Campbell???, Morgan???, Smith???, Coe???, WOODS???Hutchison, Delbridge, Bonney have not played any league footy. That reduces the imports "in our side" quite considerably doesn't it.

I started a topic - it got hijacked - I asked for it back and I get this?????
Some have asked why only the same members visit these pages and comment
You've answered your own question
Not very keen to return so I'll think on it ... enjoy your playground fellas :( :(

I usually only read the comments (unless something gets on my nerves) but it is an unfortunate by-product of this site that most discussions turn into a measuring contest by just a few Swans supporters. You can enjoy the comments from most Swans supporters and supporters of other teams more if you just ignore the usual suspects.

Of course you are entitled to your view JD62, but you can't just pin it on a couple of Swans supporters. Have a look back at this thread and count how many of the comments are about the WP V EP game on Sunday. Not many and those few comments have been submerged in a host of other topics including zone boundaries, the influence of soccer in the Northern suburbs, how many kids in different suburbs, where various posters live, why kids choose to play soccer over footy etc etc etc. All legitimate topics perhaps but none of them belong on a thread discussion on a particular game. I would rather read 5 or 6 on topic comments than 50 which meander all over the place. Its not Rocket science to start a new topic if someone wants to discuss zones, coffee or even talk in Spanish if they want FFS!

And yes I am aware of the irony that I have added to the number of off topic posts on Barista's thread but at least I offered him my view on the game.

Mikeh I absolutely was not including you in the Swans measuring team. I have sympathy for you and love the fact that against the odds you try and get some balanced discussions about Swans on the website.

Dillon? That kind of somes up the attitude the club has to our zone.

We have talent in our zone but instead of working it we pay high transfer and relocation fees for players that will breeze in and out. Players like Krakouer, Duffy, Riddoch, Simpson.... Our financial results show we can't afford to keep buying player after player.

While Subiaco work hard to pick up players they see have some talent but have been thrown on the scrap heap and cost them nothing. How many times have they picked up an unwanted player for free and he is not only a WAFL league player he is regularily named a best player. Smart business model.

By the way Subi, DAMON has a brother and West Perth told him he was just as bad as his brother.

Seems like there is a fair bit of talent in the EDFL. Big Guiness played a wonderful game on debut...22 possessions for a ruckman on debut is outstanding..he's already a favourite of mine
