BARISTA wrote: Guys
Bad enough hardly any WP comments are being offered by subscribers but that's no reason to hijack this page ... Back to the game this week / Sunday coming or comment regards other clubs lists on their own page hey

Given the failure of EP to show solidarity of teamwork and the yet unknowns of my WP'ths new team framework, structure and game plan what's the thoughts about the days outcome?.

Riddoch trained at WP on Friday lads.

Barista,

I don't know what to make of the season ahead, it has been the lowest key I have experienced being a Falcon for 37 years. We have not recruited massively which is fine as we are one of few clubs that promote from within on a consistent basis. Monaghan has mooted there will be more diversity in our game regarding swinging players around to unsettle the opposition, that will be interesting in itself.

All that said, going on what I saw last Saturday night we should win by 23 points !!!

Please

We constantly recruit and shun our own players. Gauling to see one of our brightest junior talls named a best player at another WAFL club because he was told he wasn't wanted at West Perth. Will be even hardly to fathom when we have a Victorian recruit will be playing in his position on Sunday.

JD,

Let it go mate, we are all aware that Dillon was let go a number of years ago and played a ripper game for $ubi last week. If the Victorian recruit you speak of is Keunen you are way off the mark as he has been a star for over 10 years !!!

Dillon? That kind of somes up the attitude the club has to our zone.

We have talent in our zone but instead of working it we pay high transfer and relocation fees for players that will breeze in and out. Players like Krakouer, Duffy, Riddoch, Simpson.... Our financial results show we can't afford to keep buying player after player.

While Subiaco work hard to pick up players they see have some talent but have been thrown on the scrap heap and cost them nothing. How many times have they picked up an unwanted player for free and he is not only a WAFL league player he is regularily named a best player. Smart business model.

By the way Subi, DAMON has a brother and West Perth told him he was just as bad as his brother.

Apoligies, Damon it must be and I am a supporter and not involved at the club so my thoughts may not echo those at WP. You are dead set delusional if you think $ubi are a life line to players who want a go :P , as soon DAMON puts in 2 or 3 poor showings he will be banished like many before him. What is the stolen mantra at $ubi these days "Soldier in, Soldier out". JD just let your boys play footy and Im sure they will do well. BTW in 2012 for WP Colts he averaged 10 x H/O, 9 x possessions and 2 x marks per game so it was not overly flattering.................

To every single poster who cant keep their emotions focused long enough to stay on topic on this thread (I've asked twice now)you have three (3) other avenues to voice you comments on subjects not stated by my post - if you want to rip new buttholes for each other then do it there:-
THE BAR
WAFL GENERAL &
GENERAL NEWS

SO PLEASE!!!!!!!!! GET OFF THIS ONE AND SHOW SOME BLOODY RESPECT to a new member trying to get some contact via the WP site

That is unless you prefer the sound of your own voices in the room and dont want others involved?
Your next responses, or justifications, or false reasoning's will outline your intent I suspect - Try SILENCE if you cant stay on topic..

So - does anyone have another thought on this weeks game against EP on Sunday??

West Perth for me. Keitel at CHF is a good move. Simpson looks like he will start at CHB.

East Perth do still have 13 AFL listed players named albeit mainly inexperienced players - Rotham, Gorton, Watson, Karpany, Muitimer, Lamb, Partington, Brophy, Snadden, Duggan - plus more seasoned players like McInnes, Butler, Giles. Maybe a few others might drop back?

Some local lads in Anderson, Payne and Hart will give the Royals a bit more steel but still, West Perth look solid. Falcons by 35 points for me

WP by 6-8 goals for me on what I saw of EP last week. Expecting WP to bounce back in 2017 and be super competitive pushing for top 4 along with SF, CL, Peel Subi. This week will tell a lot about the Falcons. Good luck Barista, hope you can find the patience to stay with the site. Some good footy chat available here when you can cut thru the BS.

the problem is DW how much chat is being generated by either WP or EP supporters? not a whole lot I'd say...so for BARISTA to tell everyone else to POQ unless you want to talk about tomorrow's game is setting him/herself up for a long lonely afternoon. which is why I posted the other day that we can't get too precious when posters go off track a little bit on a particular thread....otherwise you finish up talking to yourself.

Cheers LH and DW
I too think the road ahead for WP this season could very well be much stronger than many are backing.
The finals are not out of the question...as for Claremont and SF, unsure about the next team??

The moves the coaches have and will be making this year are critical due to the manner in which the side has been structured in the past. It seems to me that there is a greater desire for change this year and for players to actually prove their worth rather than just fluff around with chat and innuendo - most WA journos need a kick also as they dont look with their eyes - rather they read the stats and work from there.

I did mention previously Keitel needs to show greater spirit and courage and then I agree LH his move will be outstanding
Simpsons big body I thought would be forward but propping the back-line spine is a proper move as well

Explanation what the word 'topic' stands for..a subject of conversation or discussion:
to provide a topic for discussion.
"Not General Topic" for a off the topic discussion.

If you or others choose not to comment on any topic I raise it is certainly your right entirely and I would respect that.
If I only get the one or few persons who choose to stay on topic I am quite happy with that, and we will chat on topic.
If I bring a topic up and no-one chooses to comment then so be it..
If I do this several more times and gain 'no response or reply' at all, then I will accept my topics are not for the liking of the posters to this site and I will cease to do so, unless I choose to just blog away on the West Perth section of this site and do so with little regard for comment or intention to offer reply - that of course would be my choice also.. :P

Im an adult who has much to enjoy in life and this is only another way to share -

oooops - Im off topic!!!!!

Looking forward to attending the Polly Farmer Shield game hopefully in a good mood after Saturday!
West Perth seem to be a bit of an unknown atm with very little publicity leading in.
A host of players lost over the season will see it interesting to see if they are still contenders or in for a rebuild. I don't know what to expect from the other mob either so should be an interesting day all round!
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Our losses amount to many games of footy experiance gone from the field and on ground leadership
That's why my assertion that those remaining will need to step up something lacking in the last 2 yrs
I agree our first few games will give us all a better guage of our first half of the seasons expectations
EP player variables dictate a chaotic year for them again and as to how many more that club can handle who knows
I feel for their solid supporter base
The weather will also factor in here
Let's hope it's not too much of a ducks delight

You will have to get used to it Barista. My thoughts without seeing WP yet, you guys should win all three grades. If you don't it could be a long year for the Falcons. Our Colts are not as good as last years. Our reserves are undermanned. Our league will get better as the year goes on, but are the weakest squad since the alignment began.
