Yes, we have young talent coming through and they are developing, but unless we tackle these problems with some aggression nothing is going to change.
Unless we wake up soon and start making things happen then the club is destined to extinction. After 40 years we cannot go on like this. We must make it happen or within 3 years IMO we are gonski.

I think results this year are not quite as good as last year but I reckon also bit down on personnel this year as compared to last year. I can't help but keep coming back to 3rd q against Peel when we had Eyres, Sinkers, Spence, Ninja etc etc on the field and in form.

Come on Smoke in 1950 we had gone 51 years without an on the day premiership. 51 years!! They must have been saying we would never win one, we're a joke, we'll be gone within 3 years etc etc.

STT, get the facts right. In 1950 we had gone 43 years without a flag.
We ended a 48 year drought in the famous 1955 grand final and then followed up with big successes in the 60s and 70s. Now it is a 40+ years drought and in the era of the AFL domination of football.

History shows that the stewards confirmed that the 1907 flag was won on the day. The drought in all those years occurred in a totally different environment.
STT, I am not suggesting that we should give up.
What I am saying is that if we don't dramatically change how and what we have been doing then we wont have to give up. The sands of time are running out and the bells are ready to toll.
We change now or, IMHO, we wont like what I believe we will see in 3 years' time.
There is no more passionate Perth tragic than myself. I hope that I am wrong and the club does pull itself out of mire and become a force in the competition again.

STT. It is a well discussed conspiracy theory but not necessary an alignment as such. Only time will tell.

Of some interest perhaps on your previous comments ...... in the 52 years between 1899 and 1950 Perth made the Final Four on 27 occasions (one in every two years) and those 27 finals campaigns included 1 flag and 7 runners up.

From 1951 to 1978 ie 28 seasons we made the 4 on 21 occasions for 5 flags and 4 runners up.

The period from 1979 to the current day of 39 seasons we have a measly 3 occasions of playing finals footy.
Now that is a drought.

If talk of alignment became serious would be a very good thing I reckon - then people would find out just how many true demons there are out there, we would get hundreds of them out, I have no doubt of this.

And yes accept all you are saying about our record in the past but its about premierships isn't it? I mean no one at EF is content that they made a GF in 2012..the only real drought is a premiership drought and we are like camels when it comes to them, we survive.

Smokey, no doubt that the two droughts cannot be compared.
During the 30s, 40s and 50s PFC were more than competitive at times.
Unlucky at some stages to come up against an era full of WP & SF.
We have been totally uncompetitive since 1978.
I admire some of the supporters who have lived in hope every year.
No-one has tried to be more [positive than me over the years.

What is needed is a complete cleanout of the boardroom alas I fear that there maybe no alternative to take us forward into a successful era.
