1. The Bar On The Hill was closed today because no-one could be found to man it. This is not good enough. There were a few of us in our group who would have volunteered but it was too late to open it.
The club has enough problems without squandering opportunities o revenue raising.
The crowd was down so the Demon Den was sparsley occupied and at one stage the Redlegs Bar upstairs had only about 6 patrons.
2. There was a slight fracas at The Wall below the Presidents lounge today. Nothing serious but could have got out of hand. There are PFC members who have been asking for a long time for this area to be cordoned off, signed "PFC Members Only" and the area policed. At most other grounds PFC members are not welcomed into members' areas so why at Lathlain are visiting supporters of other clubs allowed to take over our members' areas ?
Our President has been made aware of the situation and has now given an assurance that something will be done about it.
Watch this space !!!!!
3. I would like to know what medical, physio and trainer staff we have. Is it adequate?
I believe that at a recent recovery session there were no coaches present and my informant could not confirm whether or not any of the medical staff were present. If that is the case then that explains why so many players are on the injured list. Are they getting the correct assistance in recovery to ensure they are ready to play with every liklehood that they will not miss more games than necessary.
It also raises the question...how many players declare themselves unfit to play when they should toughen up and get back on the park where they are needed.??

DF, I think you are right. There is a culture problem within the club and a very lax attitude to discipline and common sense thinking.
All IMHO and with respect.

In regards to point 3 my strong mail suggests that is totally incorrect. The conditioning coach Ben is always with the players at recovery which is more the domain of the conditioning coach than other coaches. They do monitor the sessions though.

And smoke please tell me your joking about the bar on the hill? That would be up there with forgetting to put your pants on!

No joke STT. It was closed all day. There was a crowd sitting over there early but they moved on. Hopefully they went to the Demon Den and/or upstairs at the Redlegs bar at half time and after the game.

Been a problem over the past few years Smokey in particular since the seated undercover area on the Bishopgate St side of the grandstand has been removed to make way for the WCE new headquarters.

It's not good enough and I will have a crack here at those opposition supporters who sit there. They have got some fkn cheek and show no respect but it also shows the lack of balls and leadership of our CEO and club President. They've known about it, it's been right under their nose the last few years and all the big hero Marty Atkins ever does is go down half cocked having a go at Perth supporters based on here say.

Thanks for that Swandog. The conditioning coach should be there, but so too should the physio and some trainers. Surely recovery includes treatment of injuries and sore points.
I believe that the late and great Ted O'Callaghan would turnover in his grave if he knew about this.
As far as coaches go, we have 3 head coaches, one for each team, who, in turn have assistants. I would not expect them all to attend recovery but I would have thought that there would be at least one of them in attendance to get feedback from the players and the medical staff.
IMO it boils down to how professional the club wants to be. There should be some sort of presence at these sessions by the coaches.

I didn’t expect to win yesterday but that effort was weak, PERTHETIC even. One thing that should never be questioned is a sides effort.

On the topic of the bar on the hill not being open, why were we short staffed. Hmmmmmm I wonder why????????

Cody Leggett and Corey Byrne are probably the only two that put together a four quarter effort yesterday. The rest for me just flashed in and out of the game.

This was epitomised when we let the ball bounce through for a goal rather than killing the ball and rushing it through for a behind.

If you think that the team tried all day and we still get thrashed then we really are in a lot of trouble as a club.

Our season is done and dusted.
Don't expect to win another game.

However we will win another trophy.
The wooden spoon, another one for the trophy cabinet.

Time for someone to step in, must be getting close now.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
