Isn't interesting, perception that is.
We saw Brant College as a forward and yet the Eagles see him as a midfielder.
I wonder where WCE told us to play him last year.

My wish list.
Marty Atkins allowed off the leash to run the football club and more importantly given autonomy on the football side.
The best possible coach is chosen quickly probably Mark Harvey is my thought after reflection on probable availability.
The coach given a free rein.
The coach brings his own very good support coaches.
The coach is given a free rein to recruit what he needs to get the job done.
The coach & CEO tell the Board to butt out of football affairs other than pay the bills.

If done correctly, the bills will pay themselves.

My thoughts exactly DF. Agree Harvey probably first option given that we did not go for Harris last time.
Yes, Marty must run the show with the coach given the free reign to put his own structure in place.
And, IMO, we should move quickly and secure the right coach whoever it is. We cannot wait until season end. Lock him away now!

Would like to see Marty do it his way. If what has been said on here that he was silenced a little then let him have a go at doing it his way.

I too am leaning towards Mark Harvey now. Whoever the new coach is they need to be a good man manager, tactician and be able to think on the spot. They also need to be someone that can bring a couple of ex players back to the club and make players want to play for them.

Again yes this is a good idea and especially in regards to recruiting.

Demons Forever wrote: The coach brings his own very good support coaches.

If the coach wants some different people there then he should be allowed to get them.

Could not agree here more. I understand that recruiting players can be hard and expensive but we at least need to get some of the deficiencies in our team covered for 2015. Whether that is a key forward and a key ruckman or 2-3 prime ball movers. Something needs to be done. If we can manage to fill all three then brilliant.

It costs money to bring in recruits but money is also made when big crowds come to games to watch the side when they are winning.

You blokes have been recruiting pretty aggressively for the last couple of years when you see the likes of Reimers, Leon Davis, the Mortons, Bateman et al but they don't seem to have had the impact intended. It would probably be better if you targetted quality players in other comps such as the VFL rather than delisted AFL guys. I understand they're all ex Perth FC players but it must have cost a packet to get them back to the club.

Man management skills would have got them playing.
We haven't had the coach with those skills.
Although Leon may not have been manageable his use onfield should have been better.
Reimers, who knows what a bit of man management may have done.
Nothing wrong with what the Mortons have brought all 3 have contributed well.
Bateman good servant of the Club just injury prone.
I'm more interested in the PFC players we've lost because of stubbornness and stupidity.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

It was a travesty the way Leon Davis' presence was wasted at that club.

The next coach, whoever it is, needs to have football credibility and gravitas. We haven't had that since Stan Magro. No more loonie football scientists (Eastaugh), maverick nut jobs (Jarman) or frauds (McMahon).

This time get a coach who has proven credentials.

And then chuck the board out.

And then watch them come out of the woodwork. Gee, maybe even Jeff Newman might make a reappearance after 30+ years.

Jeff Newman does go to 1-2 home games a year maybe 3 Dazzler.

Are you joking?? I haven't seen that front runner at Lathlain since 1978. Where does he watch the footy from? Behind the scoreboard?

Dazz, in fairness, Jeff Newman is a regular at home games. See him there quite often.
I take your point tho, if we get this appointment right and get some fresh blood at board level then we will see who's who come out of the woodwork. People would he surprised how many Perth supporters are out there.
