Reasonable team, but lacking in some areas. A debutant playing CHB is a big ask. I am concerned that Chaplin doesn't have the class to play a difficult position like CHF. I'd like to see AJ (currently on extended bench) in the 22 both as back up ruck and to fill in a key back/forward if the named players are struggling. That said, I am far from being a fan of AJ. We have struggled for many years with the small forward position. I thought Hayward was the preferred option, but we have gone with Kemp and Bodie, neither of whom have stats that inspire confidence.

Midfield appears to be our strength, with Dellamarta the only missing player who would be part of the midfield rotation. With Byrne, CT, Constable, Simpson, R Clarke, Cooley and Davis, we should win a reasonable amount of ball. I hope we tag Greg Clark, but I don't know who has that role - maybe Cooley?

Surprised to see Manzone named in the reserves. Didn't play last week, became a father apparently. Congrats Trent hope you see you in the seniors soon.

1. Well deserved due to our up till very recent 2nd grade zones.
2. We won't be asking anyone else to pay for it.
3. Should be more and for 4 years.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I see Cody Howard has bobbed up in the ressies tomorrow. I haven't seen him over the scratch match weeks. I have heard good things about him before. Be great if he/we could get the best out of him.

I have been trying to find out a bit about Joseph Chaplin.
He has come from St Josephs in the Barwon Football League.
Unfortunately, their websites don't provide any detail.
But in draft reports he was touted as being an athletic midfielder.
It would appear he may have played as a ruckman in his junior days as his stats included hit outs.
If he is an in for round one it appears that the coaches may know a little more about him than I do.
I will remain optimistic that with his height he may have something to offer.
After all wasn't he recommended to us?
There may be some question marks over some of the selections but under the circumstances we can only hope that those guys take the opportunity presented to them.

Absolutely spot on. I couldn't have said it better. I can only add that the WAFC should probably be stumping up the cash for us to pay for it too to help us bridge the gap in what has been an unlevel playing field for several decades.

Doesn't take long for opposition supporters like you Loopy to start getting jealous before a ball is even bounced , worried at the prospect that Perth might be a finals threat. Heaven no, that might make it a little harder for other teams to chalk up the usual 4 premiership points and a healthy percentage.

CT is the best spoken AFL/WAFL player I have heard in interviews
