That's all good and well getting excited by these big names one with multiple flag success coaching Subiaco but I hope any applicant will have the good sense to ask the club why it is the most unsuccessful club in the last 44 years and why they think a change of coach is going to change that?

And I would hope the club will be honest with the applicant about our situation with regards to zones and not bullshit them with some rosy picture about being the sleeping giant of the WAFL.

Our best and most successful coach in the last 15-17 years Damian McMahon. I liked him - but everyone here hated him. We certainly need more than a coach.

DD, I do not think for a moment that any of the applicants think we are a sleeping giant. And, I don't think for a moment that the club would insult them with that sort of insinuation. We are the worse cot case, arguably, in the history of the WANFL/WAFL.
Any applicant who might think otherwise will not get the job IMHO.

I would rather listen to him than the club rattle on about zones.

The Club needs to be talking about how they will give him 100% support.
That includes the resources to get the resources we need.
He needs to be telling the Club my way or the highway.

Surely you jest. But I do agree with your final comment. We do need more than just a coach. He will need to be given everything he asks for that will allow him to raise this club from perennial mediocracy to be perennial high achievers of the comp.
Give the right man the proper tools or die.

With SD on the search for a coach, Perth better do their due diligence pretty quick. On paper both SD and EP lists look better then Perth's TBH, especially their respective zones.

I should temper my post by saying the list that Germo took over at Subi was significantly better that the current Perth list, we had a good squad but the culture needed changing which is what he and Maloney did.

And that is exactly what our club desperately needs SS. The re-build of the playing list will need much more work than Subi faced but it all has to start somewhere....like now.
