Don't disagree that he could be good.
Is he strong enough to deal with the idiots running the Club
He's a rooky coach and could be sacrificed like others if he doesn't tell us what we need and we move heaven and earth to provide it.
Something our Club has never been inclined to do.
Is he strong enough to not take no for an answser?

The problem is that some players do not respect others they have grown up with at the club. One thinks of Mal Blight at NM, but there are many more over the years.

It's not just the coach that needs changing at this club.

Whoever coaches Perth next season needs to be the right appointment. We cant afford to only win 3-5 games each season. If that keeps happening then you might as well turn off the lights and close the gates.

The club says its got money well maybe its time to spend some of it in putting a team together that can compete for 4 whole quarters and hopefully win 10 or more games a season.

Or better still, how about putting together a team that dominates the competition and wins regular premierships. On numerous occasions throughout history, teams have come from last to win a premiership in one year. Can somebody please explain any reason why this should not be the aim of this club?

That is the aim of the club every year. The problem is we don't have the cash funds or trailer loads of white goods to get it done.

In my life time the endless revolving door of coaches at Perth hasnt changed the outcomes a great deal in decades, time to look at the bigger picture.

PD it's not the cash or white goods that's the problem.
There is no-one at the Club with the drive or knowhow to use money or white goods.
We have resources.
Build it and they will come.
First thing we need is someone who knows what we need (and what a footballer looks like) and who will go out and get it and not take no for an answer.
We need a Houghton or Yovich.
Give the coach what he needs as long as the coach knows what we need.

You’re not wrong there Bazza. We could get the best state league coach in Australia but would anything really change.

This club is stuck too much in the past and would rather talk about the glory days and rely on handouts than actually putting in the work to try be better. And I mean really putting in the work not just going at 60% and going well we tried.

All three grades only won 12 games combined all season with two of those teams coming second last and one coming in last. Yet you hear how everyone enjoyed themselves on Saturday night at the club. Is winning 12 games across all three grades really something that needs to be celebrated. Call me a miserable old prick and you can say that the players are allowed to let their hair down after a long season but to me it’s this acceptance of our own mediocrity by the club and members that is also part of the problem.
